How To Rent Non-Residential Premises :

** The rental of premises for non-residential purposes is subject to VAT (rental of lock-up garages/parking spaces, rental of unequipped premises for commercial, industrial or administrative use).

** It is therefore necessary to register this activity with Monaco Statistics (IMSEE ).

** After examination of your file, Monaco Statistics will provide you with a certificate stating your Statistical Identification Number (NIS), which is necessary for your VAT declaration to the Department of Tax Services.

Registering with the IMSEE:
In order to register with Monaco Statistics you must provide the following :
** The declaration of registration for Statistical Identification Number form, duly completed and signed
** A photocopy of the ID card or residence permit of the owner of the property or, should the owner of the property be a legal entity, of the manager of that legal entity
** A photocopy of the rental agreement

If the premises are sublet :
** A photocopy of the owner’s authorisation
** A photocopy of the sublet rental agreement

After your application has been received and examined, you will be sent a certificate stating your Statistical Identification Number (NIS).

Making a declaration to the Department of Tax Services:
Once you have completed your registration with Monaco Statistics, you must also declare your activity to the Department of Tax Services . The declaration of activity is an obligatory formality, under article 66 of the Tax Code on revenue.

There is no charge for this formality. The declaration is made directly to the Department of Tax Services, at the Tax Division counter.

How to renew your residence permit :
Principle and conditions :
** All foreign residents in Monaco must renew their residence permit on or before the expiry date.

Obtaining and completing the form :
** To get this form, you can either
** Download file
** Or collect it from the Residents’ Section

Getting Ready to Apply :
To renew your permit, you should provide the following documents :
** The two most recent electricity bills relating to your accommodation
** Proof of income (such as your latest salary slip, authorisation for a particular work activity or a bank reference from a bank in Monaco)
** A valid passport or ID card

** If you are not the owner or a tenant of your accommodation: a Certificate of Accommodation issued by the Monaco Police Department, to be completed by the person providing the accommodation

Submitting the documents :
** You should take all the documents to the Residents’ Section, with the completed form and the supporting documents mentioned above.

What to do if your card is lost or stolen?
** You should provide a statement of loss or theft, addressed to the Monaco Police Department, and take this declaration to the Residents’ Section.
