Update Your Details Competition Terms and conditions :

1. All people entering this promotional competition (the entrants) agree that the competition rules as set out in these terms and conditions are binding on them. A copy of these competition rules is available at Absa Rewards 21st Floor, 160 Main Street, Johannesburg.

The information can be obtained between 8 a.m. to 16 p.m. Mondays to Fridays during and a month after the competition period.

2. The Organiser of this promotional competition is Absa. For purposes of this promotional competition “Absa” means Absa Bank Limited (registered number 1986/004794/06), all subsidiaries and associates of Absa Bank Limited and the ultimate holding company of Barclays Africa Group Limited, its subsidiaries and associates.
3. The entrant acknowledges that he/she has been given enough time to read these terms and conditions before entering into this competition. The entrant is aware of all the terms printed in bold.

Rules of the competition :
4. This promotional competition starts on 10 June 2014 and ends on 31 July 2014 (dates inclusive). This will be the promotional period.

5. In order to qualify as an entrant :
5.1. the entrant must live in the Republic of South Africa;
5.2. the entrant must provide correct and full personal contact details, as required;
5.3. only individuals can participate in this competition and will be entered into the draw and companies will be excluded;
5.4. the entrant must be a current Absa Rewards member.

6. Method of entry :
6.1. the entrant must update his/her Debit Order details via Absa Online (absa.co.za) or the App from Absa or the Absa Call Centre during the competition period.
7. Absa, its directors, members, partners, employees, agents or consultants, the suppliers of goods or services and their respective spouses, life partners, business partners or immediate family members are not permitted to participate in this promotional competition.

8. Prizes :
8.1. The ten (10) winners in total for this competition will each win a Samsung GALAXY S5 worth R10 299.00 (Ten thousand two hundred and ninety nine rand only), which is the recommended retail price.

Winners :
9. The winners will be randomly chosen from all qualifying entrants by a registered auditor, chartered accountant, registered auditor, admitted attorney, commissioner of oaths or advocate and by means of a lucky draw to take place at the premises of Absa, situated at 160 Main Street, Johannesburg during the last week of August 2014.
10. In order to participate in the promotional competition, entrants will be required to attend to the reasonable cost for their entry (this includes but is not limited to postage, entry through internet facilities, short message service (sms), multimedia messaging service (mms) and/or any similar media or device). Such cost will not exceed what is reasonable for the method of entry (i.e. postage stamp, normal sms rates and the like).
11. The prizewinners will be contacted telephonically after the draw date during the last week of August 2014. If the selected winners do not answer their landline and/or mobile phone, Absa will leave a message on the prizewinner’s landline or mobile phone (if possible). Absa undertakes to try at least three (3) times on three (3) consecutive days to notify the prize-winners. If Absa cannot get hold of the prize-winners telephonically or cannot leave a message telephonically, Absa will send a notice to the contact details (i.e. via sms, e-mail or post) provided by the entrant.
12. Absa will deliver the prize to the prize-winners place of work or home and receipt thereof will be recorded. The prizewinners must take delivery of their prizes within one (1) month after Absa has informed them as set out in 11 above. If the prizewinners do not take receipt of their prizes within one (1) month after having been informed as set out in this paragraph, Absa will have the right to do with the prize whatever Absa may think is reasonably fair. (The prize may also be used in a separate draw and shall then be given away in terms of the promotional competition.)
13. When the prizewinners accept their prizes, Absa would appreciate the right to identify the winner by taking his/her photograph (at no fee) and publishing this in the relevant media as decided by Absa. Absa does however acknowledge the prize-winner’s right to choose not to be identified and may refuse to have his/her photograph taken and published in printed media or to appear on radio and television.
14. If the prizewinners have given written consent, Absa has the right to publish the winner’s name and photographs (at no fee) in any advertising, promotional, print, point-of-sale or public relations material. The nature of these publications will be determined at the sole discretion of Absa, for a period of twelve (12) months from the date of the lucky draw.
15. Unless Absa has been clearly negligent or intended to act in a fraudulent manner, Absa is not liable in any way for any direct or indirect loss or damage because of an entrant or prizewinner’s participation in the promotional competition.
16. If Absa cannot continue with the promotional competition for any reason beyond its reasonable control or if it is required by any regulatory terms or applicable law, Absa may end or alter the terms of the promotional competition on condition that–
16.1. no prize-winners have been determined; and
16.2. reasonable notice has been given beforehand to all entrants.
17. If the promotional competition is ended as set out in 16 above, no entrant will have any claim of any nature whatsoever against Absa, unless Absa has been clearly negligent or intended to act in a fraudulent manner.

18. The prize :
18.1. cannot be transferred and will only be handed over if all details given are factually correct;
18.2. will not be exchanged for cash amounts or for any prize other than the prize offered in this competition;
18.3. may be replaced by another prize of the same commercial value if the original prize is not available for any reason beyond Absa’s reasonable control.
19. Once the prize has been handed over in terms of these rules, the results of the promotion are final in all respects and no correspondence will be allowed.

20. Amendments to the Terms and Conditions :
20.1. Absa is entitled to amend the terms and conditions thereof in so far as same is deemed necessary and such amendments may relate to any aspect of such competition;
20.2. the amendments may include the addition and or deletion of any exiting and or proposed terms and conditions of the competition, which amendments may also affect the identified prize money of such competition;
20.3. the proposed amendments may be effected prior to the starting date of the competition and during the campaign period, which amendments may result in the campaign period being reduced and/or extended as deemed necessary.
