** Welcome to the EURAXESS Researchers’ World Cup Contest 2014 for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil! EURAXESS Links wants to reach out to all researchers who love football and dream about “playing in a different field”. This is your chance!
Applicable For All Researchers Who Love Football
** Whether you are a football expert, consult an octopus, rely on special algorithms or simply correlate the probability of a football team winning with the colour of their jerseys – warm up your fingers and sign in for this EURAXESS contest! Simply predict the scores of each match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
How and what to win :
** For every EURAXESS Links country/hub (ASEAN, Brazil, China, India, Japan and North America) there will be three individual winners with the most accurate predictions. Great surprise EURAXESS goodies are awaiting these top players!
** At the same time, each individual score will contribute to the overall team score of each of the six EURAXESS Links communities. In the end we will determine the winning community among the six hubs! Use this opportunity to prove that your EURAXESS Links hub has the best football expertise – it’s a question of honour!

About European participation in the 2014 FIFA World Cup :
Belgium, Croatia, Germany, England, France, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain – ten European teams are in the running for the title this year! This means that 10 of the 32 teams qualified for the World Cup are countries from the European Research Area and 5 of them already have won the World Cup Trophy in the past – showing that Europe is not only a global player in research but also in sports!
