Apply for a van and trailer permit :

** If you want to use any of our community recycling centres with a van, pickup or a trailer, you’ll need a permit.

** If you currently have a valid Surrey van and trailer permit, it will automatically expire and you will be required to reapply for a new permit under our new ‘Terms and Conditions’.

The main changes are :
** Your new van and trailer permit will entitle you to 12 visits in any one calendar year.
** It will automatically renew itself on your first visit to one of our sites in a new calendar year.
** You will be required to provide a valid email address as we need to be able to send you a copy of your permit.
** Without this you will not be allowed access to our sites.
** Permits for ‘Hire vehicles’ will only have a 7 day validity.
** Should any of your details change (ie address, email address, telephone number or vehicle registration number), you are required to update your permit details online via your Surrey log in account.

NB :
** You will need to accept the Terms & Conditions each time before any changes will be accepted).
** You will be required to provide a visual copy of your permit (either printed or via a smart phone or tablet) together with proof of ID if asked.
** If your permit number does not match the registration number of the vehicle you have registered with us, you will be refused entry.
** Before being able to apply for a van and trailer permit, or when you change any details, you are required to read and accept our new ‘Terms and Conditions’ first.

What can I use my van and trailer permit for?
** Van and trailer permits are to be used for household waste only.
** This does not include household construction waste. Waste from home DIY projects is classified as construction waste.
** Household construction or business waste must be taken to a waste transfer station where it will be weighed and you will be charged.

How to apply for a van and trailer permit :
** If you live in one of the 11 Surrey districts or boroughs, you can apply for a permit.
** There is no charge for the permit.
** Only one permit will be issued per household.
** Our Contact Centre will no longer be able to issue a van and trailer permit on your behalf.
** You must now make your van and trailer permit application online as you will be required to verify your email address.
** Once you have registered your account, please click on “Quick Links” to apply for your permit.
