Apply & Replace BC Services Card
BC Services Card :
** Welcome to the BC Services Card site.
** The BC Services Card provides secure access to provincial government services.

** New cards are now being issued to replace all existing CareCards.
How to Get Your Card :
** There is only one BC Services Card, but three different types.

** BC Driver’s Licence and Services Card
** Photo BC Services Card
** Non-Photo BC Services Card
Fees
** There is no fee to get a BC Services Card.
** However, if you’re combining your BC Services Card with your driver’s licence, fees that apply to the regular driver’s licence issuance process still apply.
B.C. Residency :
** When you apply for a BC Services Card, you will be asked to confirm you are a B.C. resident. Make sure you understand what this means.
Photo BC Services Card
Eligible B.C. residents, who are already enrolled in the Medical Services Plan (MSP), can get a Photo BC Services Card to:
** Replace their CareCard
** Use as a reliable piece of photo ID
** A more convenient option for drivers: combine your driver’s licence with the BC Services Card.
** Make sure your personal information is correct. Please check the name on your CareCard exactly matches the name on your driver’s licence or BCID.
** If you don’t have a CareCard, driver’s licence, or BCID, please bring two acceptable pieces of ID to the ICBC driver licensing office.
Follow these steps to get a Photo BC Services Card :
** Visit an ICBC driver licensing office.
** Remember to bring two pieces of ID and your CareCard, if you have it.
** Confirm you are a B.C. resident and have your photo taken.
** Receive your new BC Services Card in the mail.
Non-Photo BC Services Card
** Some B.C. residents are eligible for a Non-Photo BC Services Card.
For example :
** Children and youths under 19
** Adults with temporary immigration status
** Adults with significant challenges in completing the identification process at an ICBC driver licensing office
** Some older adults (75+) who may be eligible for non-photo cards
** Call Health Insurance BC at 604 683-7151 or 1 800 663-7100 for further information on the non-photo card.
Replace Your Card
Lost, Stolen or Damaged BC Services Card :
Follow these steps if your card has been lost, stolen or damaged :
** BC Driver’s Licence and Services Card or Photo BC Services Card
** Report your missing card by phoning the ICBC driver licensing centre as soon as possible.

** (Elsewhere in B.C.) 1 800 950-1498
** Get your card replaced by visiting an ICBC driver licensing office near you.
** Remember to take two acceptable pieces of ID.
** Bring your CareCard if you have it.
Non-Photo BC Services Card :
** Report your missing card by phoning Health Insurance BC as soon as possible.

Suspended, Seized or Revoked BC Driver’s Licence and Services Card :
** If your BC Driver’s Licence and Services Card is revoked for medical reasons or seized/suspended for other reasons, in an emergency, you will not be denied essential medical services.
As soon as possible, you should :
** Call Health Insurance BC to get your Personal Health Number.
