Paying Bills :
How does the online bill payment process work?
** You can schedule payments to be processed immediately or on a future date.
** When you indicate the date you want your payment to arrive (“Due Date”), we’ll show you the lead time required (“Process Date”) to ensure it reaches the vendor in time.
** Typically, it’s two business days less if the vendor accepts electronic payments.
** Once funds are debited, the payment will be processed to your payee in the form of an electronic funds transfer or, if the payee cannot accept electronic payments, mailed to the payee in the form of a paper check.
** However, if there are inadequate funds in your account on the first business day and you do not have overdraft protection, the payment will fail.
** UMB will attempt to debit the funds again on the second business day.
** If there are not adequate funds on the second business day, the payment will fail again and customer service will notify you by phone.
** You also will be notified of the failed debit in writing.
** For further information or assistance, please contact us via Web chat, e-mail, or phone.
How do I pay my credit card bill online?
** If you have a UMB Visa credit card, then you can pay it from your checking account or a non-UMB checking account that you setup as a payor account.
** Simply click the Pay or Activity link next to your credit card account summary (in the Your Accounts view).
** You can choose a one-time payment or a regular automatic payment, whichever is most convenient for you.
Why can’t I change the payee information for my UMB credit card?
** The UMB Card Services payees set up to pay your UMB credit card are considered “global” payees, which are used by many of our customers.
** These payees are established and maintained by UMB; therefore, they cannot be changed by an individual customer in UMB online banking or in financial management software programs such as Quicken.
