Apply for a Seniors Card :

You’re eligible for a Seniors Card if you meet the following three criteria :
** you’re aged 60 years or older
** you’re a permanent South Australian resident

** you’re not working more than 20 hours per week in paid employment (part-time and casual employees may average their hours over a 12 month period).
** There is no income or pension limit and the card is issued free of charge.

South Australian Seniors Card benefits :
Public transport discounts :
** free Adelaide Metro public transport during off-peak periods Monday to Friday
** free Adelaide Metro public transport all day on weekends and public holidays
** approximately 50% concession on Adelaide Metro public transport services at other times (7.01 am to 9.00 am and 3.01 pm to 7.00 pm Monday to Friday)
** concessional public transport in all Australian states/territories
** Adelaide Metro free and concessional public transport times

Monday to Friday :
** Midnight to 7.00 am – Free for seniors
** 7.01 am to 9.00 am – Seniors concession rate
** 9.01 am to 3.00 pm – Free for seniors
** 3.01 pm to 7.00 pm – Seniors concession rate
** 7.01 pm to midnight – Free for seniors

Weekends and public holidays:
** Midnight to midnight – Free for seniors

Other government concessions :
** If you hold other State or Commonwealth government concession cards, you may be eligible for concessions such as cost of living, water and energy.

** Application forms are also available from Australia Post outlets.
** You must sign the form in front of someone who is over 18 years of age and not related to you.
** They must sight your birth certificate, driver’s licence, passport or a similar document as proof of your date of birth.
** You will receive your card within 10 business days.
