Cash Send Service :
CashSend enables you to send money to any person in the country who has a mobile phone and is able to get to any Barclays ATM

** The person receiving the funds does not need to have a bank account

How to send money :
Sending money is easy and only takes a few minutes by following these easy instructions
** A Barclays customer inserts their ATM card into any Barclays ATM and selects the ‘More Services’ option
** Select the ‘Money Voucher’ option
** Enter the amount you wish to send
** Create a 4 digit ‘Voucher pin’ (you will have to enter this twice)
** Select the option to enter a phone number and enter the recipients mobile phone number. Or you can opt to proceed without entering a recipients phone number.
** Conclude the transaction
** Take and retain the receipt as proof of the transaction
** Tell the recipient what the 4 digit ‘Voucher Pin’ is and, if you opted not to enter their mobile phone number, ensure you tell the recipient the ‘Voucher Number’ (located on the receipt)
How to receive money :
** If the sender entered the mobile phone number of the recipient, the recipient will receive an SMS from Barclays.
** The message will contain the following information :
a) A message informing the recipient that money has been sent to them and is ready for collection
b) A unique 8 digit ‘Voucher Number’
** The recipient will go to any Barclays ATM and select the ‘Cardless services’ option
** The recipient will enter :
a) The 8 digit ‘Voucher number’ (from the Barclays SMS or as told to him/her by the sender)
b) The 4 digit ‘Voucher pin’ (as communicated by the sender)
** The full amount of money will be dispensed
Cash Send Terms And Conditions :
Definitions And How To Interpret These Terms And Conditions :
1.1 In these terms and conditions the following words will have the following meanings
1.1.1 Access channel means the self-service terminal and electronic banking channel that can be used to initiate a Cash Send transaction such as ATM and Mobile phones.
1.1.2 Access code means a 4 (four) digit numeric number (security number) Maximum, chosen by you or the main user and used as a security and authentication measure during the Cash Send transaction.
You provide the access code to the recipient, to use the code with the withdrawal number to withdraw funds from a Barclays ATM.
1.1.3 Account means the savings or cheque account that is held in your name at the bank and in respect of which you hold a valid mandate.
1.1.4 Account card means the debit card issued by us in respect of the account and utilised by you to access the ATM in order to select the Cash Send transaction to transfer the funds to the recipient.
1.1.5 ATM means a Barclays Uganda automated teller machine.
1.1.6 Bank means Barclays Bank of Uganda Limited (“we/us”).
1.1.7 Billing account means the account that you have chosen for debiting (deducting) the fees payable by you.
1.1.8 Cash acceptor ATM means an Barclays Uganda ATM that can receive a cash deposit, but excluding coins.
1.1.9 Cash Send banking means the transfer of funds by you from your selected account to a third-party recipient by means of the access channel, and which includes the following services
1.1.9.1 Receiving information and making enquiries about Cash Send banking transactions effected on the account;
1.1.9.2 Transferring of funds, deletion of transfers and resending of codes in respect of the Cash Send transaction.
1.1.10 Client means the person who uses the access channel and who requests or authorises (gives permission for a Cash Send transaction (“you”).
1.1.11 Completed or completion means the completion of the of transfer transaction transfer of the funds and the actual withdrawal of the funds.
1.1.12 Electronic Banking means the electronic banking Channel service provided by us, including Internet Banking and cell phone banking.
1.1.13 Main user(s) means any person(s) authorised (permitted) or deemed to be authorised by you to effect the Cash Send transaction
1.1.14 PIN means the personal identification number selected by you in respect of the account card.
1.1.15 Recipient means the third-party beneficiary nominated by you to receive the funds transferred by you via the Cash Send transaction, who will be able to withdraw the funds via a Barclays Uganda ATM without a card.
1.1.16 Reference number means the 8 (Eight) digit numeric number issued by us to you for a specific Cash Send transaction and used by you for enquiry and transactional purposes.
