Nordea Codes App :

The code app allows you to give up the paper code card and striking out codes.

With the app, you can identify yourself and confirm transactions in Netbank, Mobile Bank and Nordea Customer Service and identify yourself in services of other service providers. You can also confirm your online payments securely with the app.

What is the Nordea Codes app?
The code app is part of Nordea’s access codes. Nordea Codes is a downloadable app for mobile devices which you can use to identify yourself and confirm transactions in our Netbank, Mobile Bank or by contacting Nordea Customer Service.

On what devices does the code app work?
The code app operates on iPhones, Android phones and Windows Phones as well as on iPads and Android tablets
** iPhone versions iOS 7 & 8 and later versions

** iPad versions iOS 7 & 8 and later versions
** Android phones and tablets versions 2.3.3. or later versions
** Windows Phone 8 and later versions

Secure use of online access codes :
The access codes are always personal. Never surrender your access codes to another person. Memorise your user ID and the PIN code to Nordea Codes. Keep your user ID separate from your code app.

How does the app work?
When you enter your personal PIN in the code app, it will give changing transaction-specific codes to you. If your mobile device has a data connection, the app will send the code to Nordea in an encrypted network on your behalf.

Without a data connection, the app will show the code on the mobile device’s display, where you can copy it to the service you want to use.

The app’s security is based on four factors : PIN code, mobile device, access codes, and connection. Always make sure that the device you use is passcode-protected. Always check each transaction and never confirm transactions you have not initiated yourself.

PIN code :
** Only you know your PIN code.
** The code is both application- and device-specific.
** If you enter an incorrect PIN code five times in a row, the app will be locked for 24 hours.

** The PIN code will not be saved on the mobile device. The PIN code will be erased from the device memory as soon as the app has finished calculating one-time codes.

Mobile device :
** The code app is tied to the device. If someone tries to copy the app to another device, the copied version will not work.

** The other apps in a mobile device cannot access the information of the code app.
** If the device’s data security is broken, the code app’s information will be automatically deleted.

Codes :
** The app sends one-time codes to the bank in the background.
** There are three types of one-time codes depending on usage : Login, Confirmation and Identification.

** The codes are single-use and transaction-specific.
** The codes used for confirmation are time-bound.

Connection :
** The connection between the code app and Nordea is SSL/TLS encrypted.

How to start using the code app :
1. Download Nordea Codes app on your mobile phone or tablet from your app store. You can find it in the store with the search words “Nordea Codes”.

2. Log in to Netbank and go to the Edit Netbank tab. Start the activation by selecting “Access codes” and follow the Netbank/app instructions.

3. Next, you will see in Netbank on your computer screen a temporary PIN, which you should key in the Nordea Codes app downloaded on your mobile phone or tablet. After this, you will receive an SMS which includes the activation code on your smart device.

4. Next, open the Nordea Codes app on your mobile phone or tablet. First select the country and language, after which you key in the activation code sent in an SMS to the Nordea Codes app and the temporary PIN available in Netbank.

NB. If you accidentally log out from Netbank before entering the temporary PIN in the code app, re-start the activation from section 2!

5. Create your own personal PIN code in the code app. You will use this code whenever you are using the code app. Enter the PIN twice. Give a name to your user account.

6. Completed! You can now identify yourself with the app.
