1. New/Renewal Motor Vehicle Licence
Validity Period : 1 year

Requirements :
1. Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
2. The original or copy of registration of the motor vehicle
Procedure :
** The applicant should submit all documents to the Officer.
** The applicant will be directed to the lodgment area while his/her documents are being processed.
** Once all documents are verified, the Officer will direct the applicant to the Cashier to make the required payment.
** The applicant will further be directed to the dispatch desk to follow the final necessary procedures and uplift his/her registration.
2. Duplicate Motor Vehicle Licence :
New Fees : Same as original Licence

2. A Police Report(extract) or an Affidavit from a Justice of Peace or Commissioner of Oats of Lost/Damaged Motor Vehicle Licence

** Once all documents are verified, the Officer will direct the applicant to the Cashier to make the required payment.

1. Which agency is authorised to register motor vehicles?
The Licence Revenue Office (LRO) of the Tax Operations and Services Department of the Guyana Revenue Authority, is the agency authorised to register motor vehicles. The LRO is located at located at 200-201 Camp Street, Georgetown, Guyana.
However, agricultural vehicles can be registered at the Licensing and Certifying Offices in New Amsterdam, Corriverton, Linden and Suddie. Transfer of ownership for motor vehicles is done at GRA Branch Offices.
2. Who can register for a motor vehicle?
A registered auto dealer, self- importer, or owner of a motor vehicle can register, once all the requirements set out by the Motor Vehicle and Road Traffic Act Chapter 51:02 are met.
3. What documents are required when applying for a new or renewed Road Service Licence?
A new motor vehicle is issued with the Road Service Licence (Motor Vehicle Licence) when the registration is complete and the insurance and fitness certificate are submitted.
When renewing road licences, the applicant must have the following :
** Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN)
** The original or copy of registration of the motor vehicle
*The Cost of renewal is dependent on the weight, vehicle type and intended use of the vehicle. NB : Should any document be lost, it must be replaced before a Road Licence is issued.
