Online Application For Finger Print Check / Nominal Vetting :
** The online application for Finger Print Check / Nominal Vetting is available to the residents and non residents of Ghana. Now you can register and submit your application online to the Ghana Police Services. Also, you can track the current status of the application.
Non-residents who stay in Ghana over three months after arrival would be considered as residents.
** Fill in the form and attach the relevant document required for the application. In case you find filling the form complicated please click on “Guidelines for Filling forms”.
** The Police Clearance Certificate is issued to applicants who have been requested by the respective embassies or high commissions and employers to submit police report on them to ascertain whether or not they have any criminal record.
** Most embassies or high commissions as well as employers demand police clearance before applicants are considered for visa or employment.
** Police clearance is issued to all Ghanaians upon request, i.e. those living at home (residents) or abroad (non-residents). Police clearance is also issued to foreigners who have stayed in the country for 3 months and above.
** All applicants are requested to fill out an applicant form, i.e. Fingerprint check for residents and Nominal Vetting for non-residents.
** A resident who wants his/her criminal background to be checked for employment purposes must come along with an introductory letter from the establishment concerned and addressed to The Director-General/CID, CID HQRS, ACCRA.

Guidelines For Completing Downloadable Vetting Form :
Steps to follow after downloading the Vetting form :
1. Enter applicant’s First name and Middle name followed by the Surname in the relevant fields.
2. Enter applicant’s occupation.
3. DOB (Date of Birth) followed by Gender.
4. Enter applicant’s lace of birth, Region and Country of birth.
5. Enter applicant’s Passport No. Followed by DI (Date of Issue), PI (Place of Issue) & ED (Expiry Date) of the Passport.
6. Enter the name of applicant’s Father.
7. Enter the name of applicant’s Mother.
8. Enter applicant’s Home Town followed by Region and Country.
9. Enter at least two schools applicant attended in Ghana. Beginning with the most recent.
10. Enter applicant’s contact address. If Nominal please enter overseas address.
11. Enter applicant’s Telephone No. followed by Fax No. and E-mail address.
Witness Section (for Nominal Vetting) :
1. Enter full name of person who will collect the Certificate on behalf of applicant.
2. Occupation of the witness
3. Contact Address of the witness
4. Telephone No. followed by Fax No. & E-mail address of witness
5. signature/Thumbprint of witness
Note :
** Applicants must attach recent passport picture and photocopy of the passport (pages where the picture & other Bio-data are found) before submitting the application.
** Applicants would be scheduled to be at the CID Headquarters for their fingerprints as well as photograph.
