American Bald Eagle Photography Contest :

** We are accepting submissions for the first annual American Bald Eagle Photography Contest. Entries must be received by 11 :59 p.m. EST, Thursday, August 21, 2014.

Contest open to professional and amateur photographers who have reached the age of majority in their legal jurisdiction of residence.

Open to professional and amateur photographers, this contest was created to showcase the recovery of the American bald eagle population, through pictures of our nation’s symbol thriving in the wild.
** With over $1,000 in cash awards and other prizes, we hope to attract a broad spectrum of photographers who have spent time capturing imagery of these amazing, regal raptors. Please read our complete contest rules prior to submitting your entry.

Eligibility :
No purchase necessary. Contest hosted by Potomac River Bald Eagles. Employees of Host, and their family members, not eligible for participation. Contest void in Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Sudan, Syria, and where prohibited.

Submissions :
** To submit your entry, Click the below link. Only one photograph entry per person allowed. If multiple entries are received, only the first will be considered. Entrants may only submit an image they have personally taken, and to which they own all necessary rights. Photographs entered in this contest must have been taken after January 1, 2013.
** Entries should consist of a single digital image of an American bald eagle residing in the wild (not held in captivity) in jpeg format with a minimum of 1,400 pixels in width or height. Entries may not contain watermarks. Entries should not appear to be heavily manipulated, and may contain only minor adjustments to sharpness and color balance. Images with artificial vignetting or modified backgrounds will be rejected. Cropping is acceptable.
** Images of bald eagles that were baited will not be accepted.
** To be considered complete, an entry should include a title, description, date photo was taken, and location photo was taken. Consider including optional EXIF data as it may be requested of Contest finalists.
** All entries must be received by 11 :59 p.m. EST, Thursday, August 21, 2014. Winners will be announced on the Host’s website Sunday, September 7, 2014.

Synopsis :
We want to see your best bald eagle photograph taken after January 1, 2013. No purchase necessary; contest open to anyone who has reached the age of majority in their legal jurisdiction of residence. Other notable rules include :
** No watermarks. Minor adjustments for color balance and sharpness only; no modified backgrounds or artificial vignettes.
** Image should have a height or width of 1,400 pixels.
** No photos of eagles held in captivity or baited.
