Turnaround time :
** The standard service delivery time for issuance of death certificate is 30 days from the date of submission of application.
Eligibility :
** A person whose death occurs within the territorial jurisdiction of Bhutan.

How to Apply ?
** An applicant will have to submit duly completed application form in respect of a dead person within 30 days from date of death at the CC/ DCRCO/ Thromde/ DCRC HQ. On expiry of 30 days, the application submission will be available only at the DCRC, HQ.

** The death notification issued by competent authorized such as Hospitals andGups.
** The applicant can collect the death certificate from CC/ DCRCO/ Thromde/ DCRC HQ.

Document requirement :
** Duly completed application form.
** Death notification.
** Original citizen identity/SRP card (Bhutanese and SRP card holder) or copy of identification documents of deceased (non-Bhutanese).
** Copy of Identification documents of requestor/applicant.

Documents required for unidentified and unclaimed dead bodies :
** MoH with assistance from RBP, RSTA, Thromde CRCO/Gup will issue notification of death
Fees : No fee except for the service charge payable at the community center, if the application is submitted at CC.

1. Where is service available?
You can apply from the followings :
** Dzongkhag Civil Registration Offices, DCRCO (All 20 Dzongkhags)
** Thromde Civil Registration Office, TCRCO (Currently Thimphu, Gelephu & Sjongkhar Throm)

** Dungkhag Civil Registration Office, Dungkhag CRCO (Phuntsholing, Sipsu, Lhamoizingkha and Gelephu) Department of Civil Registration HQ, DCRCHQ, Thimphu

2. When can I avail the service?
The standard service delivery time for death registration is 30 days from the date of submission of the duly completed application form along with the supporting documents.

3. Who can apply for the service?
A requestor (parents/children/relatives/Gup etc) can apply to process for death registration.

4. What are the document requirements?
To apply for this service, you will need :
** Duly completed application form (BCRS-DR-01)

** Notification of Death/Documents related to death(death certificate issued by health facilities/Tshogpa statement endorsed by Gup) that has occurred in Bhutan and Death Certificate for death that has occurred overseas

** Original CID/SRP card of the deceased
** Copy of CID/SRP card of the requestor

5. What are the applicable fees?
No fee except the service charge if the application is submitted at CC.
