ICA Apply for/Renew Re-Entry Permit

A valid Re-Entry Permit (REP) is needed each time a permanent resident (PR) travels abroad. The REP allows you to retain your permanent residence while you are outside Singapore.

If you leave Singapore or remain overseas without a valid REP, you will lose your permanent residence. We do not accept REP applications over the counter at ICA without an appointment.

If your REP has expired, you must book an appointment using e-Appointment to apply in person. You will need to submit a completed Form 6 with the supporting documents. You may be asked to provide other documents and information to support your application.

Procedure

If you have a valid REP, you must renew it online using eService within three months of its expiry date. If your REP has expired, you will need to submit your application in person. You must book an appointment using e-Appointment.

On the day of your appointment, you will need to bring your completed application form and supporting documents to :
Permanent Resident Services Centre
ICA Building
10 Kallang Road, Level 5 (next to Lavender MRT station)
Singapore 208718

If you are overseas and do not have a SingPass account, you can submit your application through the nearest Singapore Overseas Mission. It should be submitted at least two months before your current REP expires.

Note : ICA may require you to return to Singapore to complete your REP formalities in person. A short-term REP will be granted for this purpose. Before you visit the REP unit, you will need to book an appointment using e-Appointment.

Fees

1. A S$10 fee is payable for every year, or part thereof, of your approved REP.
2. A separate fee is chargeable for each REP issued.

For online application, you will need to pay the fee within 14 days of the approval date or your application will be withdrawn. Payment can be made using either :
** Visa or MasterCard credit/debit card,
** American Express (AMEX) credit card,

** Internet direct debit (DBS/POSB, OCBC, UOB, Standard Chartered Bank and Citibank internet banking accounts in Singapore). For in-person applications, the fee can be paid via NETS or CashCard.

Processing Time

** The general processing time is within one working day (excluding the day of submission). Some applications may take longer to process.

** If you have applied for an REP online, you can check the outcome of your application using eService. If you have provided an email address during the application process, you will be notified by email of the outcome.
