PUB Apply Water Service Plumber License
We invite eligible applicants who possess the minimum qualifications and requirements stipulated by PUB to apply online for the Water Service Plumber Licence. We accept applications throughout the year with two main intakes in June and December.

Pre-Requisites
The applicant must :
a. i. Possess a Builder Certificate in Plumbing & Pipefitting or Trade Diploma in Plumbing Technology issued by the BCA Academy or Nitec Certificate in Facility Technology issued by ITE or such other qualifications that may be acceptable to PUB; and
ii. 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience or concurrent experience. You must show proof that you were working under a licensed plumber’s supervision during that period.
OR
b. Possess an Advanced Builder Certificate in Plumbing & Pipefitting issued by the BCA Academy or such other qualifications that may be acceptable to PUB.
You should have the following information ready before you begin :

e. One recent full-colour passport-size photograph with white background in JPEG format
f. One NRIC / FIN / Passport / Work Permit (front & back) in JPEG or PDF format
g. Relevant certificates in JPEG or PDF format
h. Testimonials of plumbing works under the supervision of PUB licensed water service plumber(s) in JPEG or PDF format

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Can I use tap water for home aquarium?
While Singapore’s tap water is safe to drink directly from the tap, the chlorine used as a disinfecting agent in tap water may not be suitable for some types of fish. Do add a dechlorinating agent in the water before using it for your aquarium.
You can also check with hobbyist groups such as the Koi Club (Singapore) for advices on managing aquariums.
2. Can I drink directly from the tap?
PUB have put in place a comprehensive and robust sampling and monitoring programme to verify the water quality, from source to tap, in order to ensure that water supplied is safe for consumption.
The sampling and monitoring programme is developed based on the World Health Organisation (WHO) Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality and is being reviewed regularly.
