SAGIA License for Scientific & Technical Office
This service is provided to branches of foreign companies that have a Saudi agent distributing the company’s products in the Kingdom, and such companies that wish to open an office to provide scientific and technical services to agents, distributors and consumers of their products.

Service Documents
** Decision of the Company’s Board of Directors expressing their intent to open a technical and scientific office for the company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, indicating the activity, location and appointment of the General Manager and his powers, duly authenticated by the Saudi Consulate.
** Copy of the Memorandum of Association of the participating firm, duly authenticated by the Saudi Embassy.
** Copy of the Commercial Registration of the firm in the country of incorporation, duly authenticated by the Saudi Embassy .
** Copy of the General Manager’s passport.
** Company’s profile not exceeding five (5) pages.
** Any proof demonstrating that the company’s activity is industrial, and stating the number of technical employees required for the office.
** Detailed action plan accurately identifying the project’s capability to achieve investment objectives as well as enhance the Kingdom’s Revenue, jobs to be provided to the citizens, how the project is going to contribute to fostering competition, enhance services, diversify options for consumers, the strategic impact of the project on investment in the Kingdom, benefits of the city and the surrounding areas where the project will be stationed.
** Copy of the Commercial Registration of the Saudi agent.
** An authorization authenticated by the Saudi Embassy for the applicant, and must be a law firm or services office or the General Manager.
Rules & Restriction
** The restricted number of technical employees for the office is ten (10) employees, and such number shall not be increased except with a prior approval of SAGIA.
** The office shall perform market feasibility studies on the type of the company’s activity, and prepare reports of this study for the main center. The office shall submit an annual summary of its activities to SAGIA.
** The office is prohibited from performing any contracts or commercial activities or investments in the Kingdom, directly or indirectly, while it is also prohibited from earning any fees for training Saudi technicians.
Service Mechanism
** Application is submitted on the website – E- services portal.
** Application is referred to the licensing department after verification of the entirety of the documents submitted.
** Application is referred to the licensing panel for recommendation.
** Application is referred to the Governor for decision.
Financial Fees
** Payment of license fee two thousand (2000) Riyals.
** Payment of ten thousand (10,000) Riyals as subscription for the first year to obtain services from the Business Center at SAGIA. Afterward the fee is applied as subscription for services in the following years in accordance with classification of the firm.
** Payment of subscription fees for services in the following years in accordance to classification of the firm.
