All interested families should complete the online Inquiry Form, where you can choose to receive a copy of our UCC Viewbook and subscribe to Blues News, our bi-weekly admission e-newsletter. Any visitors to the school will also be asked to complete and submit this form.

Step 2 – Plan a Visit :
** A campus tour is the best way to determine whether UCC feels like the right fit for your son. As such, we invite you to join us during one of our Open Houses on October 23 and 24, 2014.
** Student-led tours are also available Monday, Wednesday or Friday at 1 :00 p.m. for the Upper School (Grade 8+) and 2:00 p.m. for the Prep School (SK – Grade 7) from late-October to May. Registration is required for both Open Houses and tours. Plan your visit at the Visit Us page.
** Boarding candidates are invited to experience UCC by scheduling an overnight stay. Visits can be arranged by contacting admission AT ucc.on.ca or by calling 416-488-1125 ext. 2221.

Step 3 – Submit Application & Required Documents Online :
Log in or register online and submit an online application form along with PDF copies of the following documents :
** Final June 2013 school reports
** Final June 2014 school reports
** Birth certificate OR passport

Note :
** Day applicants are required to submit these documents by December 5, 2014. All applicants will also need to send their current term or semester report as soon as it becomes available (usually in January or February).
** Please note that in some cases we may request additional documents in order to supplement a candidate’s file. These materials may include teacher recommendations, copies of graded schoolwork, and proof of English Language proficiency.
** Please do not submit any additional documents unless requested.

Step 4 – Apply for Financial Assistance (if applicable) :
Applicants must apply separately for financial assistance. Awards are allocated yearly, based on family need, and range from $5,000 to full tuition. Interested candidates for Grade 5 and above are encouraged to apply by December 31, 2014. Visit Financial Assistance to learn more.

Step 5 – Complete the Entrance Test / Assessment :
Grade 7 and above : All candidates are required to register for and write the Secondary School Admission Test (SSAT) as early as possible and no later than December 31, 2014 for day applicants. Visit https://www.ssat.org/ for more information. Boarding applicants should visit www.ssat.org for details and a list of international locations. If the SSAT is not available in your area, please contact Tricia Rankin at admission AT ucc.on.ca or 416-488-1125 ext. 2221 to make alternate arrangements. Please include UCC as a score recipient (test centre code 7858) when you register for the SSAT.
Grade 3, 5 and 6 : Applicants are required to write an entrance test at UCC on January 17, 2015. The Grade 3 test takes place from 9 – 11 a.m, and the Grade 5 and 6 tests take place from 1-3 p.m.
Senior Kindergarten : Assessments take place on March 28, 2015. We will contact you in early-March regarding your son’s assessment time.

Step 6 – Schedule an Interview :
Grade 3, 5, 6, 7 and above (Day) :
** Upon receipt of all required documents, selected candidates will be contacted to arrange an interview. Interviews take place from November through mid-February for day applicants. Boarding interviews may take place via Skype for international students. Please note that in some cases interviews will not be scheduled until test results have been received.
** The interview is about 45 minutes in total. Before spending time with the applicant, one of our Admission Counselors will meet briefly with parents. During the applicant interview, the student will be asked to read a short piece while the remainder of the time is a relaxed conversation where he is encouraged to share information about himself and get to know us. The interview is meant to give insight into the applicant and family’s personalities, interests and values. It is also an opportunity for parents to gain a deeper insight into who we are and what we do at UCC.
** For Grade 5 and above, while the Admission Counselor meets with parents, the applicant will be asked to complete a short writing sample. The writing exercise has two purposes : it is intended to give the applicant an opportunity to express himself creatively, and to give us a snapshot of his ability to express himself thoughtfully and creatively. The writing sample is not graded.

Boarding : Selected applicants will be contacted once the application form and all required documents have been received.
Senior Kindergarten : Family visits take place during the week of March 23 – 27, 2015. Families will be contacted in late-February to schedule their visit.
