The Ministry of Interior is the granting body for Residence Permits to non-Qataris living and working in the State of Qatar.

Employers, companies and government agencies sponsoring workers from abroad must complete the application and provide necessary documents on behalf of their sponsored employees. Usually the worker will already be in the country on a shorter term visa. Residence Permits are normally granted within six weeks. They are valid from one to three years.
Application Process :
Follow these steps to apply for a Residence Permit for a sponsored worker :
** Fill out the online application form.
** Submit applicant’s academic and professional qualifications.
** Attach evidence that the applicant has completed medical evaluation and fingerprinting.
** Attach original copies of marriage and birth certificates, if applicable.
** Pay appropriate fees.

Additional Information:
** The cost of a Residence Permit for Personal Sponsorships is QR352 and for Company Sponsorships QR1052. Collecting from the Expatriates Affairs Department is free. Personal delivery costs an additional QR30 and collection from a post office is an extra QR10. SMS notification costs QR1.
** If the passports have been delivered to the post office before 11 am, the delivery will be at the same day. But, If they have been delivered to the post office after 11 am, the delivery will be at the next day.
