Vehicle License Renewal :

This service allows the renewal of the vehicle license, pursuant to the Traffic Law Articles and Provisions, Executive Regulation No. (67/76), and Amendments thereof

Eligibility or Criteria :
The vehicle insurance must be valid

Required Documents :
** Owner’s civil ID or passport
** Vehicle insurance document
** Signature authorization, if the owner is a company

Procedures :
** Visit the General Traffic Department concerned and submit the required documents
** Make a technical check for your vehicle
** Fill the service application form
** Pay the fees due

Vehicle License Renewal Periodic Check :
This service allows checking the vehicle periodically to renew its license, pursuant to the Traffic Law Articles and Provisions, Executive Regulation No. (67/76), and Amendments thereof.

Eligibility or Criteria :
** The vehicle insurance must be valid
** The vehicle must pass the periodic check

Required Documents :
** Copy of the owner’s civil ID
** The vehicle ownership record
** Mandatory insurance document

Procedures :
** Visit the General Traffic Department in the governorate you refer to and submit the required documents
** Make a technical check for your vehicle
** Fill the service application form

Fees :
** Variable fees 0 KD
** Fixed Fees 0 KD

License for Cross-Border transportation (new application) :
** Application from the company requesting Cross-Border License
** The Passport or Civil-ID including a photocopy. Subject to the following: The driver’s residence must be associated with that company.

** Cross-Border vehicle registration paper, including a photocopy.
** Photocopy of the company Registration.
** A list of vehicles owned by the company.

Pickup Registration :
** The owner of the pickup is the same entity of the applicant’s residence sponsor.
** The Passport or Civil-ID including a photocopy
** Vehicle registration paper, including a photocopy.

** Driving License, including a photocopy.
** Photocopy of the Sponsor Civil-ID.
** Application from the residence sponsor ( Incase of: the applicant residence type was article 18).

Transporting Workers Pickup Registration :
** Application from the company requesting Transporting Workers Pickup.
** Workers insurance.
** Vehicle fitness test. Indicating the number of passengers.

** Pay the required fees.
** A Valid Police Certificate (to prove you are of good character)
** Vehicle registration paper, including a photocopy.

Registrations Renewal :
** Any criminal precedent cases existed is sent off along with the fingerprints, pickup registration renewal is excluded.

** Passport or civil ID and photocopies of them.
** Letter from the company stating the applicant residence is on the company, Kuwaitis are excluded from this letter.

Substitute lost or damaged license plate or vehicle registration :
The vehicle owner or any legal representative should notify the concerned department within (10) days for the lost or damaged of the vehicle registration or any of the license plates.

To request for the substitute, submit on the proper form and pay the fee. On this state a lost or damaged license plate or vehicle registration, a notification letter is needed from the police station.
