Cell C Online competition

November 2014 – January 2015:
** It is important that you understand and agree to these rules. This competition is organised and prizes are sponsored by Cell C (Pty) Limited, registration number 1999/007722/07 (“Cell C”) and is open to all new or existing Cell C customers who are active on the Cell C network.

** Directors, members, partners, employees or agents of or consultants to Cell C, or their sponsorship agency, or spouses, life partners, parents, children, brothers, sisters, business partners or associates of such persons are not eligible to enter the competition and cannot win prizes.

** The competition period will run from 1 November 2014 until 31 January 2015 (“the competition period”).

** You understand that all information (including these rules) relating to this competition published on any promotional or advertising material or on our website at any time before or during the competition period will form part of the terms and conditions of entry. Cell C also has the right to withdraw this competition before the final draws.

Prizes

** The total value of the prizes is five million rand (R5 000 000)
** The winner will be liable for any taxes, including but not limited to donations tax, payable to the South African Revenue Services as a result of the winner accepting the prize.
** Cell C reserves the right to substitute or exchange any prize with another prize of similar commercial value on notice to you, in their sole discretion. You will not have a claim against Cell C if Cell C does this.

** It is important that you understand that all participants (and winners) indemnify Cell C, its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors against any loss or damages, either direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from its participation in this competition.

Online Prizes :
The online prizes are split into three (3) tiers. See Addendum 1 for the Tiers.

How to enter and awarding of prizes :
To participate in this competition, customers must :
** be eighteen (18) years or older;
** be a new or existing Cell C customer;
** have a valid South African bank account;
** comply with the provisions of the Regulation of Interception of Communications and Provision of Communication-Related Information Act (“RICA”) if you are a new customer and RICA the SIM;
** activate the SIM card; and
** be active on the Cell C network.

For the winner :
** Prizes are not transferable for cash.

** The winner will be required to produce the SIM card and/or proof of identity to Cell C’s satisfaction to prove legal ownership of the cell number, and have complied with RICA for a new customer. If proof cannot be provided that all competition conditions have been met to Cell C’s satisfaction, the winner agrees that they will not be entitled to the prize and the prize will once again be placed into a separate draw. The winner will have no claim against Cell C if this happens.

** Cell C confirms that it will ensure that a chartered accountant, registered auditor, admitted attorney or commissioner of oaths conducts the competition and this will be reported on Cell C’s internal audit reporting procedures.

** Cell C will confirm with the winner if their name and photograph can be published at no cost to the winner, for any advertising, promotional, print, television show, point of sale or public relations material for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the end of the competition period.

** It is important that the winner understands that all participants and winners indemnify Cell C, its directors, affiliates, members, partners, employees, agents, consultants, suppliers, contractors and sponsors against any loss or damages, either direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from its participation in this competition. Prior to awarding the prize, Cell C may require the winner to sign such an indemnity.

** Cell C may amend, modify or otherwise change these terms and conditions in its sole and absolute discretion on notice to the winner, and the amended version will be displayed in the same media as these terms and conditions. By participating or continuing to participate in the promotion, the winner agrees and understands that they will be bound by the amended terms and conditions.

IT Number Verification Rules

1. Number supplied from supplier in format : +27 xx xxx xxxx
** Cell C to run number through internal systems and supply the following back to supplier :
** Number supplied for verification

** Employee code, not on Cell C code (or if specific codes for other networks in use then “codes”)
** Cell C prepaid customer code
** Cell C hybrid customer code

2. Must be an active Cell C customer (as per current “Active status” rules)
3. Can be on any active prepaid, hybrid or postpaid package (including Vitality, EcoNet, Telestream and RBM)

4. Excludes Cell C employees : Excludes all types of Virgin, VC, MTN, Telkom, 8ta, Mr Price & Seventy2 users

Product Prize Redemption Rules

Airtime – once-off – R500 :
Given to contract, prepaid or hybrid active subscribers

CONTRACT redemption (if a contract user wins R500) :
User account credited with R500 – once-off (NO SUPACHARGE benefits)
All customer-facing areas need to showcase this credit (USSD / eBill / IVR/ portal / customer care)

PREPAID / HYBRID redemption (if a prepaid or hybrid user wins R500) :
** R500 any-net airtime voucher loaded onto user SIM
** NO SUPACHARGE benefits
** Standard airtime voucher rules apply
** Standard airtime voucher depletion rules apply
** All customer-facing areas need to showcase this credit (USSD / IVR / portal / customer care)

Data – once-off – 100MB, 1GB & 2GB :
** Given to contract, prepaid or hybrid active subscribers
** Any time data bundles (NOT Nite Data)
** Valid for 90 days
** Depletes after free data amounts, before purchased data
** Data billing increment of 25KB
** All customer-facing areas need to showcase this credit USSD / eBill / IVR/ portal / customer care)

Data – recurring – 1GB & 10GB pm x 12 :
** Given to contract, prepaid or hybrid active subscribers
** Any time data package (NOT Nite Data package)
** Data loaded on 1st day of each month for 12 months
** Depletes after free data amounts, before purchased data
** Data billing increment of 25KB
** All customer-facing areas need to showcase this credit USSD/eBill/IVR/portal/customer care.

  1. How do I go about playing this competition via internet?

    1. The unlimited AnyNet offerings/deals are applicable on Postpaid for new and existing customers over a period of 24 months
