Renew ID Card:

After the expiration of ID, the ID holder is requested to apply for its renewal.

Service Scope:
Renewal of expired UAE ID

Service Eligibility:
All UAE and GCC nationals, Expatriates, residents of the UAE whose UAE IDs had expired.

Service Policies:
** Customers who are late in submitting ID card applications are fined AED 20 per day up till AED 1000 as a maximum.
** Delay fines shall be applied on ID renewal procedures after 30 days of its expiry.
** Delay fines shall be applied in case of any delay in reporting any data change after 30 days of the occurrence of the change.
** Persons exempted from fees (social welfare beneficiaries + nationals with special needs and autistic individuals)
** Services that are not included in fees exemption (Mobile vehicle service + Express Service) If a customer wishes to change the personal photo printed on the renewed ID, this should be requested at the time of application submission.
** Expatriates and residents may request refund of ID issuance fees if they pay for a longer validity ID and then a shorter validity ID was issued for them because of shorter residency permit from one of the service centers.

Service Fees:
** UAE Nationals: AED100 for a 5-year ID and AED 200 for a 10-year ID.
** GCC Nationals: AED 100 for a 5-year ID.
** Expatriates: AED100 for each residency year.
** Printing and Service Fees: To be applied on all procedures (AED 70 for application through printing offices and AED 40 for electronic applications through the Emirates ID website)
** Express Service Fees (optional): AED 150.
** AED 1000 for the mobile vehicle service per family per day for UAE and GCC nationals and residents in the UAE though contacting the call center or the service center (per person + per family + per day) except VIPs and social welfare beneficiaries and old people and those with special needs and autistic individuals who can’t reach the service centers.

Prerequisites:

a) All channels except mobile application and IVR system

UAE National under the social welfare coverage (over the age of 15 years):
** Social welfare certificate including his/ her name
** Original passport
** Original Family Book
** Expired ID or data certificate from any of the ID centers or a copy of the ID

UAE old nationals, nationals with special needs and autistic individuals who benefit from the social welfare:
** Expired ID or data certificate from any of the ID centers or a copy of the ID
** Social welfare certificate including his/ her name
** Recent medical report certified from the competent entity
** Original passport (or a certified copy thereof)
** Original Family Book (or copy thereof)
** Personal photo (3.5×4.5 cm) with a light blue background

UAE National under the coverage of social welfare (under the age of 15 years):
** Social welfare certificate including his/ her name
** Original passport.
** Original Family Book Summary
** Personal photo (3.5×4.5 cm) with a white background
** The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers or a copy of the expired ID.
** Original Family Book (or copy thereof)
** Personal photo (3.5×4.5 cm) with a white background
** The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers.
** Original birth certificate

GCC National (over the age of 15 years):
** Original passport
** Proprietary or lease contract certified from the municipality or the contracts competent entity. No GCC national shall be registered with uncertified lease contract
** If a person works for a governmental entity he should present a work certificate issued from the entity he works for, and if he/she works in the private sector the work contract or work ID should be presented and it should be certified from the Labour Ministry. The private company work certificate shall not be enough if not certified.
** If a person is studying in the country, he/she should present a study certificate from any of the registered schools in the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. Certificates from unregistered schools shall not be accepted.
** A certificate confirming obtaining a valid business license in the country.
** A valid marriage contract of a UAE nationale.
** The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers or a copy of the expired ID.

GCC National (under the age of 15 years):
** Original passport
** Official transcript of the unified number from the General directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
** The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers or a copy of the expired ID.
** Personal photo (3.5×4.5 cm) with a white background

GCC National (Children with special needs):
** The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers or a copy of the expired ID.
** A recent medical report certified from the competent entity.
** Original passport
** Personal photo (3.5×4.5 cm) with a light blue background

GCC National (Children whose data has been added in the system):
** Original passport
** A document that proves residency of the holder (work ID or labor agreement certified from the Labour Ministry if the customer works in private sector or lease contract certified from the municipality or the contracts competent entity.
** Official transcript of the unified number from the General directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs.
** A certificate( identification number) issued by one of main centers of EIDA.
** Valid study certificate in UAE if he/she is a student.
** ID of one of the parents with birth certificate.
** Personal photo (3.5×4.5 cm) with a light blue background

Resident (over the age of 15 years):
** Valid orginal passport
** Expired residency
** The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers or a copy of the expired ID.

Resident (under the age of 15 years):
** Valid orginal passport
** Expired residency
** Original birth certificate or (the original passport or the father’s ID)
** The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers or a copy of the expired ID.
** Personal photo (3.5×4.5 cm) with a light blue background

Resident (Registering children whose data has been added in the system):
** Valid orginal passport
** The expired ID, and in case it is not available, the issuance of ID number confirmation from any of the principal ID registration centers or a copy of the expired ID.

B) Mobile applications:

C) IVR:
No documents are required.

Service Level Agreement:
ID shall be issued within 48 hours from the time of submitting the application (Provided that all security permits and other procedures are completed on time).

Service Availability:
** Service shall be available 24 hours/ 7 days a week through the mobile application or the live chat and service center.
** Through service centers during listed working hours
