Social Security Family Projects Services :

The goal of Productive Social Security Family Projects Services is to transform 100 families and/or individuals currently receiving social security into productive members who can participate in the development of the nation.

The project aims to investigate ways to help those on social security upgrade their standard of living, enforcing the importance of work and self dependence

Who can request this service :
** Families and individuals who receive social security or those eligible for it.
** The disabled who are not eligible for social security but who are capable of managing a project.
Families with limited income who are at a level of social security eligibility and declared eligible for the project after a social study is conducted.

Steps to follow to request the service :
A. Process Steps :
** The beneficiary must submit an application for a loan to the concerned department in the office having jurisdiction where the project will be established.
** An investigation into the social status of the applicant and the social and economic feasibility of the project is conducted.
** The results of the study are reported to the Director General in a period no longer than 30 days from the date of registration of the project.
** The Director General may grant a no interest loan in line with the type and size of the project. A maximum amount of three thousand Omani Rials ( RO 3000) may be provided to one individual and five thousand Omani Rials (RO 5000) if there is more than one individual.
** The approved application is then forwarded to the Oman Development Bank to draft a contract for signature by the beneficiary and completion of payment procedures in one payment or installments as dictated by the project.
** The beneficiary may also be granted an additional loan not to exceed one thousand Omani Rials (RO 1000) for reasons appreciated by the Director General and based on prompt payment of the basic loan.

What documents are needed to process :
** Copy of passport or ID.
** 4 photographs.
** Marriage certificate or marital status certificate. (i.e. not married, widowed).
** Medical certificate of all members of the family confirming non is infected by a communicable disease.
** Financial Status Certificate.

Special conditions if any applicable :
** Applicants may not have another livelihood project or must prove low income earnings.
** Must be qualified and capable of implementing and managing the project.
** The project must be of his/her entrepreneurial idea or was reached after consulting with the concerned authorities.

How long will it take :
Applications are processed within 30 days from the date of submission. Applicant is notified by phone
