Professional Fishing Boat Licence :

This licence would be granted to professional fishing boats and ships owned by fishermen who have already obtained a fishing practicing licence, according to certain conditions. (This licence is granted for three years and can be renewed for the same period).

Steps to follow to request the service:
Procedures to be followed:
For fishing boats:
** An application letter is addressed to the Fisheries Departments and Centers.
** The application will be considered by the Fishing Boats Licence Committee.

For professional fishing ships: the application is to be submitted to the DG Fisheries Development for consideration.
**
Documents to be attached: (Copies of which are to be attached, if possible).
What documents are needed to process:
** Application Form .
** Copy of ID card for Omanis.
** Copy of fishing practicing licence

Special conditions if any applicable:
** The applicant should have already obtained a valid fishing practicing licence.
** The applicant must be registered in the Manpower Record and a copy of his Manpower Card should be attached.
** He should not have obtained a similar licence or have rendered his licence for any reason.
** He should be dedicated for this profession.
** He must be of 21 years age and not above 60.
** He should have passed a specialist course in the Fisheries Training Institute.
** He should have already obtained the first licence at least 7 years previous.

The licence will be granted on the same date of submission

Description Fee to be paid
Licence issue and renewal: for a ship with an engine of 50 hp and less. RO 0.100 is to be added for every extra hp. R.O 15
A replacement Licence R.O 7.500.
Delay Penalty – for every month delay, for the ship with an engine of 50 hp RO0.300
Agricultural and Fisheries Fund contribution – if the length of the fishing boat or ship is less than 28 feet R.O. 3.
Delay Penalty – for every month delay, for the ship with an engine over 50 hp R.O. 1
Agricultural and Fisheries Fund contribution – if the length of the fishing boat or ship is more than 28 feet R.O. 6.
