MOTC Request Approval To Install New Navigation Aids

The approval is given for installing new navigational aids at ports or maritime projects, or at the Omani regional waters.

Who can request this service:
The Companies implementing maritime projects, commercial ports, fishing harbors, or sea clubs.

Steps to follow to request the service:
A- Process Steps:
The Company submits an application to the DG of Maritime Affairs- Dept of Navigation and Maritime Safety

B- List all forms/applications that need to be completed to apply for the service:
Application Form.

What documents are needed to process:
** A letter from the company installing the navigation aids.
** The technical specifications of the navigational aids.
** A layout for installing the navigational aids.

Special conditions if any applicable:
** The technical specifications should match the international maritime requirements.
** The navigational aids should be installed in accordance with the specifications.
** Implement the requirement of the international lighthouses.

How the service is processed:
** The approval will be issued after reviewing and studying the technical specifications of the navigational aids, in addition to physically surveying the site where these are to be installed.
** A report will be provided and the remarks should be handled, if any.
** The approval will be handed over to the company representative or by mail.

1-2 weeks
