Requesting Approval For Tour Guide Profession
A person who guides tourists and provides them with the information about the tourist attractions of the region.

Omani citizens and Expatriates
Steps to follow to request the service:
The applicant will be tested and interviewed by the Tour Guide Committee, and then will be provided with the tour guide’s license of practicing the profession after paying the fees.
What documents are needed to process:
Filling in the application form and attaching the following documents:
** A copy of the ID card, or the passport and the Labor Card for non Omanis
** A copy of the Police Clearance Certificate
** Two photos
** A copy of the educational qualification and work experience
** Interview date
** The medical fitness certificate to be submitted after passing.
Special conditions if any applicable:
The applicant shall not be less than 18 years of age

The applicant will be provided with the phone number of the employees to follow up

Tour Guide’s License :
Complete the tourism license application form and submit with the following attachments :
** a copy of the ID card or passport.
** 2 photos.
** a copy of educational qualifications and work experience.
** a copy of the labor card for non-Omanis.
** criminal status certificate.
** medical certificate.
The applicant will have an interview with the Tour Guide Committee of the Ministry of Tourism, then be offered a tour guide’s license after paying the fee as follows :
** Omani general tour guide (OMR 20)
** Omani regional tour guide (OMR 10)
** Non-Omani general tour guide (OMR 100)
** Non-Omani regional tour guide (OMR 50)
** Temporary tour guide (OMR 5)
Tourism Transportation Activities and Services :
A. Land transportation :
Complete the tourism license application form attached with the following :
** a copy of the trade registration documents
** a copy of the ID card or Passport
** a copy of the lease or ownership of the business land
** approval on the proposed name for the trade registration
Processes :
The elementary approval of the activity will be delivered according to the following :
1. Having an activity representative office in a trading area.
2. Royal Oman Police approval
3. The buses must meet the following conditions :
** Include not less than 15 seats
** Must not be more than 3 years old
** To be air-conditioned and equipped with refrigerators.
** Buses with over 40 seats must include toilets and kitchens.
** Must have fire extinguishers, microphones and speakers, televisions, video and DVD players, a front chair for tour guides and first aid kits.
