Issuance of Environmental Licenses :

Provisional Environmental Approval:
This approval is granted for commencing the construction process. It includes the approval, the environmental conditions required before operating the project. The approval is valid for one renewable year.

Temporary Environmental Approval :
This approval is granted to all industrial establishments constructed outside the industrial areas determined by the concerned authorities and integrated infrastructure projects. The validity of such an approval, in any case, is a renewable year until the industrial area is ready, or the infrastructure project is completed, as the case may be.

Environmental Approval for Infrastructure projects:
This approval is granted to the infrastructure projects which do not need follow up after being completed. The approval is valid for one renewable year until the project is completed.

Final Environmental Approval:
This approval is granted to an establishment after it meets the conditions of the provisional approval. It is valid for 2 years, and renewable for similar period(s).

All project owners and investors interested in investing in industrial, mining, and development projects

Steps to follow to request the service:
a. Process steps:
Submitting an application to the Environmental License Section, MECA, or to any other Department in the areas, to get an environment license.
Specialists review the application.
Specialists will visit the project, if required if required (No visit is required if the project is located at an area approved by the Ministry).
The application will be referred to the technical section based on the type and location.
The license will be issued in accordance with the technical conditions.
With respect to projects that need evaluation of the environmental impact, the study will be referred to all sections based on the specialization.

What documents are needed to process:
Owner of the project submits a letter to the Director of Environment Planning to get an environment permit.
Filling in an application form to get the environment permit No.
Site ownership, krooki, and a valid lease contract.
Commercial register, Computer lists, a valid subscription certificate to Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Approval of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry illustrating the annual capacity of an industrial project.
Approval of the Ministry of Commerce and the map showing the coordinates of the site location for mining projects.
Approval for the Ministry of Agriculture illustrating the annual capacity for agricultural projects.
Approval of the Ministry of Tourism. Layouts of the buildings and the outlook for the tourism projects.

Special conditions if any applicable:
The owner or the company’s or corporation’s delegate shall submit the application.

How the service is processed:
The approval takes time based on the type and location of the project. If it is a simple project (carpentry workshop) located in the industrial area, the approval takes only 30 minutes.
If the project has a great impact on the environment, it will need time to study by most of the concerned sections of the Ministry.

How long will it take:
By mail or in person based on the given date. MSM system is undergoing.
