FAQs :
How can I get a certificate confirming I am not an Israeli citizen?
“I am not an Israeli citizen. I am a Jew that would like to immigrate to Germany. The German Embassy has asked me for a certificate confirming that I am not an Israeli citizen. How can I obtain such a document?”
In order to receive the requested document you must complete the Questionnaire for Clarification of Status in Israel at the nearest Israeli mission. You must attach supporting documents with the questionnaire. Please refer to the nearest Israeli mission for clarification.
How can we renounce our son’s Israeli citizenship?
“Our 15 year-old son was born in Israel. We have lived here since he was 3 years-old and we do not intend to return to Israel. What do we need to do in order to renounce our son’s Israeli citizenship, without renouncing our citizenship?”
It is not possible to renounce only the citizenship of a minor, because he was born in Israel. The options you have are: to submit a Declaration of Waiver of Israeli Citizenship Application for the entire family, or alternately your son can submit the application for waiver of Israeli citizenship only for himself when he turns 18 years of age.
