Individuals who have history of severe hypersensitivity to a previous dose of the same COVID-19 vaccine, the active substance or to any of the vaccine components should not receive the vaccination.
Those who have history of severe hypersensitivity to polyethylene glycol (PEG) and polysorbate* should not receive Comirnaty(BioNTech) vaccine. For other persons who should not receive Sinovac vaccine, please refer to question 54.
*Comirnaty(BioNTech) vaccine contains PEG. Although polysorbate is not contained in Comirnaty(BioNTech) vaccine, it is closely related to PEG.
2. Is only one dose of vaccine needed if I have recovered from Covid-19 infections?
According to the current recommendation of the Joint Scientific Committees of Emerging and Zoonotic Diseases and Vaccine Preventable Diseases, persons recovered from COVID-19 infection is recommended to receive only one dose of COVID-19 vaccine for furthering their personal protection.
Persons who wish to receive mRNA vaccine (Comirnaty(BioNTech)) should wait for at least 90 days after being discharged from COVID-19 infection. Whereas, persons who wish to receive inactivated vaccine (CoronaVac (Sinovac)) should wait for at least 180 days after being discharged.
3. Can I be vaccinated for more than 2 doses?
Further doses/booster with the same or other COVID-19 vaccine is currently not recommended.
It is currently too early to confirm if and when a third dose of COVID-19 vaccine will be needed for the general population, and the Government will continue monitoring any new scientific evidence that becomes available.
4. Can I inject different types of vaccines as the first and second doses?

In exceptional situations where the vaccine recipient is unable to complete the series with the same type of vaccine (e.g. due to anaphylaxis after the first dose; or if the vaccine is no longer available or accessible), vaccination with another COVID-19 vaccine may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Comirnaty(BioNTech) vaccine is indicated for use in individuals aged 12 years or older; and Sinovac vaccine is indicated for use in individuals aged 18 years or older.
