Citizenship Request For Foreign Wife
Process Description:
Please follow the steps below:
** Fill in the application form and pay the fees at any typing centre.

** Submit the printed application along with the required documents at the Department of Citizenship and Personal Status.
** Receive the notification by Empost or immediately in case of submitting the urgent application.

** Marriage certificate Original + Copy
** Certified by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in case it was from outside UAE
** Proof of the validity of marriage from the court in the presence of the relatives Original
** Recent
** Passport of the wife with residency Original + Copy
** Provided that the residency is valid for more than 3 months
** Birth certificate of the children Copies
** Passports of the children Copies
** Recent education certificates for the children Copies
** Personal photos for the wife 5 photos
** Passport of the husband Original
** Emirates ID for the husband Original
** Accommodation or housing ownership Copy
** To whom it may concern certificate for the husband Original
** Issued by the employer
** Military Intelligence approval (in case the husband is retired from the armed forces or still works there) Original

General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs – Abu Dhabi (GDRFA) :
The Department of Naturalisation and Passports was established in 1966, and was responsible for the issuance of citizenship and passports to the government of Abu Dhabi. In 1972 and 1973, laws No. 17 and 6 were issued to regulate the nationality, passports, immigration and residency affairs in Abu Dhabi.
In 2009, the Ministry of Interior issued a decision to unify the names of all the Departments of Naturalization and Residency in UAE to the General Directorate of Residence and Foreigners Affairs.
