Entry Permit For Studying Purposes:
Through this service, students can request an entry permit for short term courses sponsored by universities, colleges, academic or research institutions that are accredited in the UAE.

Process Description:
Please follow the steps below:
Fill in the application form and pay the fees at any typing centre.
Submit the printed application along with the required documents at the Entry Permits Department.
Receive the permit by Empost or immediately in case of submitting the urgent application.
Required Documents:
Entry permit application with an affixed coloured photo Signed and stamped by the sponsor Original
Passport of the sponsored Valid for at least six moths Copy
Cheque with a refundable amount of EAD 1000
Health insurance of the sponsored at the first and second entry permit renewal Original
Fees:
Entry permit for studying purposes 550
Extra fee for urgent application 100
Special Conditions:
Sponsor must be one of the licensed universities or colleges or academic or research institutions in the UAE.
The entry permit can be extended twice for a similar term of (60) days for an extension fee of AED 500.

Governmental Higher Education Institutions in UAE. There are three Universities in UAE.

** Higher Colleges of Technology
The Ministry of Higher Education- Higher Education Affairs has a dedicated student portal on their website, with online applications, approvals, and other details. Applicants may login at Ministry of Education- Higher Education Affairs Student Portal to create their own account.
Private Higher Education Institutions :
Several private institutions are active in the higher education sector in Abu Dhabi; you may use the Higher Education Institutions Guide to search for a university or a speciality.
Electronic Higher Education :
For students willing to study abroad, Ministry of Education- Higher Education Affairs’s approval should be obtained prior to enrolment by submitting Request Form about Institute/ Study Program.
Note : A limited quota for admission to some governmental universities is open to all expats nationalities if the student meets specific terms and conditions. For information about requirements and procedures, applicants may visit the website of the desired university or institution.
