Sharjah Collecting the Deceased Body Police Investigation

Requirements for UAE Nationals:
** Passport, UAE ID card, family book, or any other identification document of the deceased
** Recognized identification document proving the identity of the concerned recipient (deceased relative)

** Letter of deceased body transfer from Sharjah Police addressed to the police directorate at the other Emirate for burial permit
** “No-Objection” letter from the concerned police department stating that there is no objection from their side to collect the deceased body for burying purpose.

Requirements

Requirements for Non- UAE Nationals:
** Passport, Emirates Identity card or any other identification document of the deceased
** Recognized identification document proving the identity of the recipient (deceased relative or concerned person)

** Declaration signed by the recipient acknowledging that he/she is the closest relative of the deceased in UAE, in case this recipient is not a first-degree relative
** “No-Objection” letter from the deceased’s embassy stating that there is no objection from their side to bury the body in Sharjah cemetery, in case of absence of the concerned relative

** Letter of deceased body transfer Sharjah Police addressed to the police directorate at the other Emirate for burial perm

** “No-Objection” letter from the concerned police department stating that there is no objection from their side to collect the deceased body

Requirements for Transferring the deceased body overseas:
** Valid Passport of the deceased for issuing the death certificate
** “Transfer permit” letter from the deceased’s state embassy, certifying that he/she is subject of the mentioned country in case of invalid passport; or an approved identification in case of lost passport

** Recognized identification document proving the identity of the recipient (deceased relative or concerned person)
** “No-Objection” letter from the embassy to where the deceased will be transferred
** Letter from the airway company stating the flight details (flight number, date and time)

** “Dead-body Transfer” letter from Sharjah Police addressed to the police directorate in the other Emirate to facilitate the transfer process of the dead-body through its airport
** “No-Objection” letter from the concerned police department stating that there is no objection from their side to collect the deceased body

Application Process

** Visit the main morgue within the healthcare facilities located in Al Qasimi Hospital or Kwaiti Hospital to follow-up on the deceased body preparation and collection procedures.

** Provide a “No-Objection” letter from the concerned police department stating that there is no objection from their side to collect the deceased body for burying, cremating or transferring purposes.

** Fill and sign the required forms, “Identification and receiving” and “Body readiness notification”; after identifying the deceased in the presence of the staff in charge.
** Collect the “Burial Permit” to bury the deceased body in Sharjah cemeteries.

Fees

** AED 1000 for preparing, embalming and sealing the dead body in the coffin
** AED 100 for transferring the body from the mortuary to the airport for transfer overseas
** AED 50 per day fines for delay in collecting the body from the mortuary
