Obtaining National Identity Card For First Time :
Thenational identity card is an official document that allows all citizens to prove their identityand, if it is valid, their Moroccan nationality.

It is compulsory for all citizens over 18 years old. It can also be obtained at the age of 16 years old. National identity card is 10 years valid.
People who are required to obtain CIN for the first time must always follow the procedure below.
Applicant:
Moroccan nationals abroad
Required documents:
** Consular registration certificate, giving the address of the applicant
** Certified copy of the deed granting Moroccan nationality for foreigners who acquired such citizenship;
** Certificate of nationality prescribed in Article 33 of the Dahir No. 1-58-250 of September 6th , 1958 on the Code of Moroccan nationality, where the Moroccan nationality of the applicant is doubted;
** Copy of the page of family civil status book corresponding to the applicant providing such book or a full copy of the civil status register or an extract of birth certificate. These documents should be three months valid (first and last name of applicants and their parents’ names should be drawn up in Arabic and Latin characters on the birth certificate) ;
** Four recent passport photographs of the front, color, on a light background, size 3.5 cm time 4.5 cm, uncovered face, and without dark glasses.
