Registration of Marriage Contract at Moroccan Abroad :

Moroccan nationals abroad may contract marriage according to the administrative procedures of the host country provided: consensus between spouses, legal capacity; presence of two Muslim witnesses, freedom from legal impediments.

The marriage certificate must be registered at the Moroccan consulate having jurisdiction over the place in which the contract was drawn up, within a limit period not extending three months starting from the date of contract establishment. The documents required for this procedure are as follows:

Applicant:
Le fiancé ou la fiancée.

Required documents:
** Consular registration card of one or of the two spouses;
** Residence title or an equivalent document stating place of residence of one or of the two spouses within the consular district;
** Full copy of civil marriage contract in four duplicates with certified translation, where necessary;
** Extract of birth certificate for both spouses;
** National identity card or passport of spouses;

Fees of consulate, contracts, and formalities

Place of submission:
Consulate of Morocco in country of residence
Place of issue:
Consulate of Morocco in host country

Non-remarriage certificate :
This certificate is evidence that the applicant is not married. Such certificate is often required for administrative procedures abroad.
Applicant – Moroccan nationals abroad

** Divorce deed or spouse death certificate
** Sworn statement

Place of submission : Consular district having jurisdiction over the place of residence of the applicant
Place of issue : Consular district having jurisdiction over the place of residence of the applicant

Ways of claims : Al-Wassit institution (mediator)

Divorce certificate :
This certificate attests that the applicant and the person whose name is stated in the document are divorced. Such certificate is often required for administrative procedures abroad.
