Certificate of Permission to Draw up a Marriage Contract

Moroccan nationals abroad may enter into marriage under the family provisions at competent consular departments and embassies in Morocco or abroad. Required documents for this procedure are as follows:

Applicant:
Fiancé or fiancée

Required documents:
** Consular registration card of one of the two fiancés;
** Residence title or an equivalent document proving place of residence of one of the fiancés within the consular district;


** Birth certificate extract for each of the fiancés;
** Medical certificate for each of the fiancés;
** Administrative certificate relative to fiancés;
** National identity card or passport of fiancés;
** Application form for permission to draw up marriage contract [form]

Divorce certificate :
This certificate attests that the applicant and the person whose name is stated in the document are divorced. Such certificate is often required for administrative procedures abroad.

Certificate of common life :
This certificate proves common life. It is issued as required by public administrations depending on competence, or by foreign authorities. It is issued by communes or districts having jurisdiction over the place of residence of the applicant.
