To obtain the certificate of forename conformity, applicants must file an application at the consular services having jurisdiction over place of residence

Choice of surname :
The choice of surname is a mandatory process for parents. Right after birth, parents must head towards the civil status office to register the new bornand therefore choose a forename.
The criteria of choice are : to avoid choosing non-Moroccan, compound names and those derived from names of cities, villages, or tribes. Forenames must not be of prejudice to public order and to values.
Certificate of forename spelling :
To obtain the certificate of forename spelling, applicants must file an application at the consular services having jurisdiction over place of residence

Certificate of forename change :
To obtain the certificate of forename change, applicants are entitled to get a certificate proving this procedure. For this purpose, please follow the procedure below

Certificate of conformity in case of change of forename, surname, place of birth, or date of birth :
In case of a mismatch between the identity documents of a Moroccan national residing in France, the certificate of conformity is the only recognized certificate-according to a Franco-Moroccan agreement-to prove identity before French authorities.

Father, tutor, or legal representative of the foreign minor
Required documents :
Submission of documents proving the old and new identity to the Moroccan consul at the place of residence of applicant.
