Space Camp is an interactive educational experience that brings theory to life through simulated training aboard the NASA Space Shuttle. Five high school students aged 15-18 who excel in science, technology, engineering and mathematics will receive scholarships to the Advanced Space Academy: a challenging mental, emotional and physical experience at the U.S. Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville, Alabama. All participant costs (including air and ground transportation, lodging, meals and incidental expenses) will be paid by the U.S. Department of State.

Eligibility / Be sure that you meet all eligibility requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
** Moroccan citizen residing in Morocco and born between August 1, 1997 and July 30, 2000
** 14/20 average on most recent transcripts, including strong grades in science and math
** Demonstrated interest and ability in math, science or technology inside and outside the classroom
** Strong English language skills (program is conducted entirely in English)
** Availability to travel to the US August 7-15, 2015

How To Apply :
** To apply, simply review the eligibility criteria above and, if you qualify, submit a 3 min (max) video of yourself explaining a scientific concept in a simplified way (in the English language) and upload that video to Youtube.com and save the link.
** Complete the online application form by May 10, 2015
** If selected for the next step, your video will be published on this website and then you can invite your friends to vote for you
** If selected within the top 10 videos (based on the voting results) , you will be asked to submit supporting documents and you will be contacted for a face-to-face interview.

Timeline :
** 14th April 2015 – Nomination phase
** 10th May 2015 – Selection of 20 video finalists (Jury)
** 16th May 2015 – Online Voting
** 1st June 2015 -Announcing Space Camp finalists and face to face interview sessions
** 8th June 2015- Final announcement of 5 Space Camp participants

FAQs :
Would someone who has already been to the U.S. be disqualified?
No. Participants with very minimal experience in the United States may be considered for the program. However, priority will be given to applicants with no previous experience in the United States.

How much free time will a participant have during the program?
There will be some free time during the program. However, participants MUST understand that this is an intensive academic program and they are expected to fully participate in all activities.

If a participant has relatives in the U.S., would he/she have time to see them?
Participants will NOT be allowed to leave the Academy to visit relatives or friends.

Can a participant arrive early/late or stay after the Space Camp Program?
No. Participants who choose to travel to the United States on the Space Camp Scholarship are required to abide by the terms and conditions of the program.

These terms state clearly that participants may NOT arrive in the United States before the program start date or remain in the country after the close of the program.
