Study Permit is granted to a foreign national who intends to study at a recognized learning Institution in Zambia. Recognised learning Institutions are those that are registered with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Science and Technology

Persons planning to undertake formal studies at registered educational institutions in Zambia should apply for a Student Permit before travel to Zambia. Applications should be lodged with the Head Office of Zambia Immigration Lusaka.

Procedure For Applying For A Study Permit:
Study permits are issued to Non-Zambians who come to study in Zambia. Applicants who are not resident in Zambia must submit their applications while outside the country.

Application Steps:
** Complete application form (form 20)
** Obtain two recent passport size photographs

Collect supporting documentation:
** Photocopies of current passport;
** Letter of acceptance from the Institution/school;
** Status of the host, parent or guardian if any;
** Chest X-Ray report
** Write a cover letter to Chief Immigration Officer

Applying For Extension Of Study Permit:
** Cover letter from the host/Institution
** Original Permit
** Prescribed fee
** Application form 11

Employment Permit :
An employment permit allows an individual to reside, enter and re-enter Zambia while in employment during the validity of the permit. Employment permits are issued by the Department of Immigration to foreigners working in Zambia.

Application For Employment Permit :
The law requires that applicants secure their employment permits while outside the country . However, Government employees, volunteers, missionaries and investors may apply for their permits whilst in the country

** An Immigrant intending to settle in Zambia must be in possession of a permit
