Reasons why you may be unable to replace your licence:
** you need to replace your licence for a reason other than lost, stolen or destroyed (e.g. you need to change your name or a condition on your licence)
** you have replaced your licence using this online service within the last 12 months
** your licence has been disqualified, cancelled or suspended in Queensland, or any other Australian state or territory
** you do not have a new card with a digital photo
** your licence is due for renewal or has already expired—you will need to renew your licence.
Applying in person:
You will need to:
** complete and bring the replace a driver licence application
** bring your evidence of your identity documents
** show an official evidence of change of name document if your name has changed since your last licence was issued
** declare that you are medically fit to drive the class of vehicle. You may need to provide a medical certificate that states that you are medically fit to drive
** pay the licence fee—the fee will depend on how long you want to renew your licence for.
You may need to have your photo taken when you apply to replace your licence.
If a Magistrates Court has granted you a special hardship order or you have been immediately suspended for a drink or drug driving offence and an order has been granted allowing you to drive until the date of a court hearing, you will need to apply for a replacement licence showing the appropriate condition.
