If you don’t receive your renewal notice or it has been lost or destroyed, phone 13 10 84 or go to a Service SA customer service centre.
Fees:
Fees are calculated on the annual licence fee multiplied by the number of years you choose to renew, plus an administration fee.
For example – if your photograph was taken three years ago, you can renew your licence for up to seven years either online or in person without having a new photograph taken. If you want to renew it for a longer period, you will need to attend a photo point location so you can have a photograph taken. If you don’t need to have a photograph taken you have the option to renew your licence online.
Renewal options:
Your application form provides details on the options to renew your driver’s licence.
Generally, a driver’s licence may be renewed for any period between one and ten years. Your driver’s licence photograph is valid for ten years so the application renewal period options are based on the expiry date of your photograph.
Renewing your licence – no photo required:
You can renew your licence without having a photograph taken for any period listed under the heading Licence Fee No Photo Required on your application. Either:
** visit the EzyReg website and pay the fee using Visa or MasterCard,
** attend one of photo point locations to pay the fee using cash, money order, Visa or Mastercard, or
** Post completed application with a cheque, money order, Visa* or Mastercard* to Service SA, GPO Box 1533, Adelaide SA 5001. *To pay by Visa or Mastercard please include the card number, expiry date and CVV in your correspondence.
If you renew online you’ll be able to print a temporary licence.
If you attend a photo point location you’ll be given a temporary licence while your photo licence is made.
A temporary licence is valid for one calendar month or until you receive your photo licence in the mail. If you don’t receive your photo licence within one month phone 13 10 84.
If you live in a remote area of South Australia that’s not serviced by a Service SA customer service centre or Australia Post photo point, or you are unable to attend one of these locations, phone 13 10 84.
