Apply For Passport Via Passport Express :

Passport Express is the fastest, cheapest and easiest way to apply for your passport. Apply through your local post office, in Ireland and Northern Ireland, and the Passport Service aims to have passports back in 10 working days from the day we receive it (this is subject to the demand at the time).

For first time applicants or those who are replacing lost or stolen books, the processing time can take up to 15 working days. If you are applying from Great Britain, the process will take around two to three weeks.

Please be aware, you cannot submit your application through a post office in Ireland/ Northern Ireland if you live abroad. All applications must be submitted in the country where you live.

Living in Ireland?:
You can choose to submit your Passport Express application through approximately 1,000 An Post offices.

Step by step guide:

** Get an APS 1E passport application form from any Garda station or An Post office.
** Once your passport application has been completed correctly and you have all the relevant documents, bring these to any An Post office. Then purchase a Passport Express envelope and hand your application to a counter clerk.
** Payment can be made by credit/debit cards, cash or cheque (made payable to An Post). View Passport Express fees.
** Once payment is made, you will be issued with a receipt. Keep this receipt in a safe place as it contains the tracking number for your passport application. It is also the reference point if you wish to make any queries concerning your application.
** The Passport Service aims to have passports back in 10 working days from the day we receive it (this is subject to the demand at the time). For first time applicants or those who are replacing lost or stolen books, the processing time can take up to 15 working days., provided the application has been submitted correctly.

Living in Northern Ireland?:
You can choose to submit your Passport Express application from over 70 Post Offices.

Step by step guide:
** Get an APS 2E passport application form from one of the many post offices.
** Once your passport application has been completed correctly and you have all the relevant documents, bring these to any of the listed post offices. Then purchase a Passport Express envelope and hand your application to a counter clerk.
** Payment should then be made by credit/debit cards, cash or cheque.
** Once payment is made, you will be issued with a receipt. Keep this receipt in a safe place as it contains the tracking number for your passport application. It is also the reference point if you wish to make any queries concerning your application.

There are two post offices currently offering a Passport Express service in Great Britain.

L1 8BN.

Step by step guide:
** Get an APS 2E passport application form from our Passport Office in London, your nearest Irish Centre or via post.
** Once your passport application has been completed correctly and you have all the relevant documents, bring these to one of the post offices in Glasgow or Liverpool. Then purchase a Passport Express envelope and hand your application to a counter clerk.
** Payment should then be made by credit/debit cards, cash or cheque.
** Once payment is made, you will be issued with a receipt. Keep this receipt in a safe place as it contains the tracking number for your passport application. It is also the reference point if you wish to make any queries concerning your application.
** The process takes around two to three weeks from the date we receive your application, provided the application has been submitted correctly
