How To Apply For Rectification of Minutes in Santa Fe?

This procedure makes it possible to request the person concerned to correct errors and material omissions in the minutes of births, marriages, cohabitation unions and deaths. The Directors-General of the Civil Registry may have this correction on its own initiative or at the request of an interested party. (Law 26.413)

What do I need to do?
It is necessary to have in original language the items, documents and any precedent from which the existence of the error or omission arises, which is intended to be corrected.Indicate in an accurate and particular way the errors intended to be corrected. Mention the accompanying documentary.

The minutes presented as a background to the line that are registered by the General Directorate of the Civil Registry of Santa Fe must have been issued within the Framework of Digitalization and Informatization of the Line. Those who are not yet to be more than 1 year old must be longer than 1 year old.

If the documentation beforehand for making a rectification is a document / foreign act: it is necessary:
1. International legalization (Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Consular means of the Hague – Law 23.548 – or Argentine consular intervention at the place of dispatch – Dto. PEN 1629/01).

2. Translation into Spanish by duly registered translator (Law 26,413).

With regard to Italian civil records:
** In case of verbatim /birth verbatim or in plurilingual format duly signed and sealed – Conv. Vienna 1976 – (according to art. 2 of Law 23,728 – Italian-Argentine Agreement on the Exchange of Civil Status Records and Exemption of the Legalization of Documents shall not be required, Apostille or consular referral shall not be required if they comply with the formalities provided for. (by application of art. 6 of the above-mentioned Act).
** On the contrary, if the Italian civil act or extract does not possess any of the formalities described in the preceding paragraph, the respective legalization shall be required (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Consular Via – Apostille or Consular Referral).
** If they are Italian minutes or extracts registered by the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church, they will be received as civil documents, provided that they correspond to the year 1865 or earlier, and must also have the signature of the Chancellor and seal of the Episcopal Chancellery.
** It is known that taking into account the process of massive digitization and the demand that has been made in this Civil Registry, we aim to achieve greater efficiency in the processing of rectification procedures.
** To this end, from 07/08/2023 the Legal Counseling Zone North and South only accept procedures in which both the minutes to be rectified, as well as those that must be used as supporting documentation of the same and corresponding to this Civil Registry, are available in the RC DIGITAL system.
** In the event that they are not digitized, this digitization must be requested in advance through www.santafe.gov.ar/rcdigital.

Who Can Start Rectification of Minutes Procedure?

The applicant must be the holder of the minutes himself (or with special power to rectify the record, if he is of age). If you are deceased (which must be accredited with the relevant item), the child-older may do so – or the surviving spouse, only for marriage or death. If the child had also died, what must be proven, the grandson, and so on, to the first living legitimized of the line.

Cost: $735 each item to rectify.
