Welcome to the planning application search site. Here you can search for records of planning applications that have been made and submit comments on applications that have not yet been decided.

For applications submitted after 15 May 2012 where the decision has not yet been made you can view full details of the application including plans, photographs, documents, public and statutory comments .

For applications submitted after 15 May 2012 where a decision has already been made you can view the decision notice and related plans only.

You can search the database of advertised planning applications by:
** house, field or object name
** road name
** application reference
** parish
** planning category
** application status
** from and to dates (limited to a 5 year time span per search)

For example, if you searched for parish ‘St. Helier’ and status ‘pending’, results would be returned listing all pending applications in St Helier. If you want to search by road name but are unsure of the spelling you are able to enter a partial road name, such as ‘Quenne’ – pages would be returned listing all applications in the Quennevais area. If you want to search by application reference you can merely enter the last 4 digits of the reference – pages showing all applications that contain these four consecutive digits will be returned. The search is not case sensitive.

Protected Trees:
You can search the database of protected trees by:
** parish
** location
** description
** tree species

If you searched for parish ‘St. Helier’ and species ‘beech’, pages would be returned listing beech trees in St Helier. The search is not case sensitive.

Are all protected trees on this list?:
No, not all trees that enjoy some form of protection provided by the planning law are on the list of protected trees. Some trees may be protected through a condition on a planning permit. This online register provides details of trees on the list of protected trees only. If you are unsure about whether a tree on or around your property is protected please contact us and we will check the property file for you.

Historic Environments :

This is a database which contains the List of Sites of Special Interest that are of architectural, historical and/or archaeological interest: these are known as Listed buildings and Listed places. The database also contains information on potential Listed buildings and places.

Is my building or place listed?:
The way in which historic buildings and places in Jersey are designated changed in January 2011. The new system of designation is much simpler, clearer and fairer. Under the new heritage protection system the names given to protected historic buildings and places has changed as follows:
** if your building used to be known as a Building of Local Interest (BLI) it will now be referred to as a potential Listed Building;
** if your building used to be known as a proposed Site of Special Interest (pSSI) it will now be referred to as a potential Listed Building
** if your building used to be known as a Site of Special Interest (SSI) it will now be referred to as a Listed Building
** if you own an Archaeological Site it will now be referred to as a potential Listed Place

Following resurvey and review, which should be complete by the end of 2014, any building or place that is currently protected because of its heritage value will:
become a Listed building or place and assigned a grade (1-4); or
be removed from this database

Owners will be involved in this process and will be able to challenge any proposed designation.

Important information:
This database is for information only and its accuracy is not guaranteed. Names of properties change over time and without notice and the information given usually relates only to the name in use when the building was protected. It does not detail the extent of protection so care is required in respect of buildings within the grounds or former grounds of protected buildings and those which are part of a group or are converted farm buildings. A land search is the normal way to check definitively whether or not a building is protected, and even these sometimes need to be clarified. Please remember that each protected building or structure is someone’s property and may be their home so please respect their ownership and privacy.
