Vakhshoori Scholarships :
The Vakhshoori Foundation invites young Zoroastrians to apply for scholarships for the academic year of 2014-2015.
The applicant must be a young Zoroastrian enrolled in or accepted to an accredited institution of higher learning
The awards range between $10,000 and $1,000. We look forward to receiving your application for the coming year.
Eligibility :
If s/he is already enrolled, s/he must provide a tuition statement for the fall semester; if accepted but not yet enrolled, s/he must provide an acceptance letter. Candidates of diverse nationalities are welcomed to apply. All completed applications must be postmarked by June 15, 2014. For specific questions, please contact Koorosh Vakhshoori at scholarship@vakhshoori.org.
Format :
Please use Microsoft Word to fill out your application. If necessary, you may use a typewriter or complete the application by hand, but please write as legibly as possible, using a blue or black pen. If you are completing this application by typewriter or by hand, make sure to print out the application using a high resolution printer. Please put your answers to Sections A through D directly onto the form. Do not change formatting or the number of pages.
Your responses to the questions in Section E, regardless of what method you use to complete the application, must be placed on separate paper. If using a computer, please use a 12-point Times font. Whether using a computer or typewriter, please single-space your responses.
Staple all pages of your application in sequential order, including the additional pages for Section E. Please do not use a binder. If you would like submitted materials returned, enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Application Checklist :
1. The application form, including all attachments.
2. Reference letters from three individuals who know your capabilities and potential for success in your educational program. At least have one recommender address your academic progress and prospect while another describe your Zoroastrian community activities and involvements. They should be in sealed, signed envelopes, directed specifically to the Vakhshoori Scholarship Committee. If your references prefer to send letters directly, they must be postmarked by June 15, 2014.
3. An official transcript from the school you most recently attended. If your transcript does not reflect your abilities, please explain why in your response to Question 12. If your transcript is being sent separately, please make sure it is postmarked by June 15, 2014.
4. Supplemental materials such as academic essays or articles, artwork, cds, dvds, and so on. This is optional.
Please note, all materials should be in English or English translations provided.
Selection Information :
Finalists may be invited for a phone interview. Results will be announced in late fall 2014. Award-winners will be asked to create short written biographies and informal video self-portraits which will be available at vakhshoori [dot] org. Important note, the awards would be directly distributed to award winner’s educational institution.
