Principal’s Leadership Scholarship:
This scholarship is to be awarded to a secondary school student who has shown leadership inside or outside the school community. One scholarship will be offered at the discretion of the Principal of each school in Otago for payment of $1500 per year reduction in tuition fees for a chosen programme at Otago Polytechnic. Applications close in December each year.

For more information, please speak to your School Administration staff as they can provide you with the correct form.

Private Training Provider (PTP) Pathway Scholarship:
Intended to transition students from a Private Training Establishment (PTE) to the Polytechnic and alleviate the financial burden for second-chance learners who have been under-served by the schooling system.

The PTE Scholarships value equates to two, one-year tuition fees, or pro-rata for single semester programmes.Applications close for Semester One in January and Semester Two in June of each year.

Foundation Studies Scholarships:
Available to all students who staircase from a Certificate in Foundation Studies programme (Level 2, 3,4) to a vocational programme at Level 4 or above.

This Scholarship entitles the recipient to a $1500 per year reduction in course fees for a full-time, full year programme, or $750 for a full-time, one semester programme.

Pacific Island Scholarships – 2014 applications now open:
The purpose of this Scholarship is to assist Pacific Island students at Otago Polytechnic who show ability and character to succeed in their field of study.

The Scholarship is open to all Otago Polytechnic students who identify as Pacific Island (i.e. Pacific Island ethnic origin) and are permanent residents or citizens of New Zealand who are enrolled in 0.5 EFTS or more.

Information and application forms have been emailed to currently enrolled Pacific Island students with a closing date for applications of Friday 26 September 2014. Midwifery Scholarships:
This is the Irihapeti Ramsden Memorial Scholarship. The purpose of this Scholarship is to increase the number of M¯aori Midwives.

In year one, each recipient pays 50 per cent of the student fee. In year two, each recipient pays 25 per cent and pays no fee in year three of the programme.

Mana Pounamu Scholarship :
The purpose of this Scholarship is to celebrate those M¯aori who have been nominated as recipients of Mana Pounamu Young M¯aori Achievers Award.

It is offered to all senior/final year recipients of the Mana Pounamu Young M¯aori Achievers Award.

R¯unaka Scholarships :
The purpose of this Scholarship is to acknowledge the contribution these students make to their R¯unaka and local community.

Offered to four students (one from each of the four local R¯unaka ), for study in a chosen programme at Otago Polytechnic. Full fees paid for the duration of study.

Mataawaka Scholarship:
These scholarships are awarded to M¯aori students who whakapapa outside the Kai Tahu rohe who are studying at Otago Polytechnic.

Each scholarship awarded covers one year of tuition fees. This scholarship has been developed within a relationship between Otago Polytechnic and local Kai Tahu r¯unaka.

Applications for this scholarship close in March.

Otago Polytechnic Education Foundation Grant:
For existing and potential students. Applications are available from June to end of July each year. Please contact Andrea.Hessian@op.ac.nz for more information or to have an application form sent to you.

Todd Foundation Awards:
For research projects such as Masters Research.
