SDA Marriage Registration

Marriage is the voluntary union of a woman and a man towards creating a family, which gives rise to rights and obligations between spouses.

** Marriage may be registered at wedding houses, any branch of the Public Service Development Agency and Public Service Hall.
** Marriage registration may be held in a festive atmosphere at Wedding Houses in Tbilisi, Batumi, Kutaisi, Rustavi, Sighnaghi, Akhaltsikhe and Mtskheta;
** Upon citizens’ request, marriage registration may be held outside a building, at any time and in any place.

Documents Required To Register Marriage :
** Joint written application of the persons, planning to get married;
** Identity documents of the persons to be married;

** In case of registration of marriage of a person aged between 16 and 18, birth certificate of a minor and a written consent of parents, consent of a carer and document certifying his/her authority, or a court decision on permitting a marriage;
** In case it is a second marriage for a person, a document certifying the termination of previous marriage;

** If an application is submitted by a representative of a person planning to get married – a document certifying power of representation and identity document of representative.

Note:
If a person seeking registration of marriage is a foreign citizen, the Agency may accept a foreign citizen’s passport without Georgian translation if the personal data of a person in the passport is transliterated in Latin aplhabet.

A document issued (certified) in a foreign country shall be duly legalized or authenticated by apostil in accordance with a corresponding rule before it is submitting, and shall be enclosed with a Georgian translation certified by a public notary unless otherwise provided by an international treaty or agreement of Georgia.

To register marriage in Georgia, a foreign citizen must submit a document certifying a legal ground of his/her stay in Georgia.

Tbilisi N1 Wedding House:
** Business days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

** Fee of wedding registration with special ritual service at wedding houses on weekends – 150 GEL; on any other day except weekends – 90 GEL.
** Fee of wedding registration outside the building of branch of Public Service Development Agency – 170 GEL.

Tbilisi N3 Wedding House:
** Business days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday
** Days off: Monday, Tuesday
** Working hours: 09:30–18:30
** Visiting hours for citizens: 09:30–17:00
** Fee of wedding registration with special ritual service at wedding houses on weekends – 150 GEL; on any other day except weekends – 90 GEL

Kutaisi Wedding House :
