Police & Traffic Records Check :

The Records Bureau is responsible for the systematic centralization and control of all records from creation through storage and maintenance to final disposition.

The principle duties of the Records Bureau staff are to receive crime, accident and arrest reports from all zones; check reports with chronological listing to ensure correct number and classification and make any necessary changes; file and maintain all reports; create or update criminal records for all adult and minor arrestees. The Records Bureau also issues traffic and police reports to customers.

The Records Bureau division is also responsible for the collection of all fees.

Office hours are 8 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. St. Croix and St. Thomas hours are 8 am to 3 pm Monday through Friday. The St. John office is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30 am to 3 pm. All offices are closed on all government holidays.

To obtain services you must:
Obtain and complete the appropriate form for the service you require
AND
return it to the Records Bureau along with your valid driver’s license, Naturalization Certificate and/or a valid Passport

Fingerprint Services :
** To issue fingerprints on fingerprint cards for customers.

Process :
Step 1: Customer goes to RT Police Station with identification and makes a request for fingerprints with Receptionist.
Step 2: Staff reviews identification.
Step 3: Fee is collected by staff and a receipt is given to the customer.
Step 4: Administration section contact the Scenes of Crime Unit to assist customer in acquiring fingerprints
Step 5: Customer is directed to the Fingerprint Unit.
Step 6: Fingerprints are taken and put on a special card.
Step 7: Scenes of Crime Unit records customer identification information.
Step 8: Cards are given to Customer.

Customer Service Report :
** Persons can commend an officer for good work or place a complaint against an officer by completing a Customer Service Report Form.

Process :
Step 1: Complete the Customer Service Report Form.
Step 2: Ensure that all contact information is placed on the form and all requested information is provided.
Step 3: Print and submit the Customer Service Report Form to any Police Station or email completed form to rvipolice AT gov.vg
Step 4: Submitted Customer Service Report Forms are sent directed to the Commendation/Complaints Officer.
Step 5: An assigned officer will call to obtain further information on the incident within 24 hours and will proceed with an investigation into the matter.
