What does Tax Account Online do?:
You can file Periodic tax returns and Recapitulative Statements for VAT. You can also check your balance, look up your Tax Account reference numbers, or browse and print out Account Statements.
Other uses:
Calculate amounts of tax on selected future dates including interest, make a refund request of mistaken payments, change the settings of refund time and refund limits.
What is Tax Account Online? :
Tax Account Online is an electronic service where you can file your Periodic Tax Return and browse your Tax Account transactions free of charge.
It also provides Tax Account Statements. Statements are stored on the website for three years. The name of the website is Verotili-palvelu in Finnish, and WebbtjÀnsten Skattekonto in Swedish.
In Tax Account Online you can:
** file Periodic tax returns and any additional periodic tax returns
** file VAT EU Recapitulative Statements and corrections to them
** monitor your Tax Account balance and transactions
** check the bank reference number and payment instructions
** check current reporting periods and due dates
** select how you want to receive your monthly statements
** select refund times and set the limit amounts for your refunds
** browse statements and tax returns in the Archive
** print out statements, monthly sum-ups and reports
** use the Balance Calculator to determine the amount to pay and to work out possible late payment interest on a desired payment day
** send your bank account number
If you file a Periodic tax return electronically via the Tax Account Online website it will immediately be stored in the Archive. This means that you can browse your filing at any time later, and you will have a record of when you sent it in. However, the Archive only shows the Periodic tax returns that were submitted via the website itself. There is usually a delay of two days before the submitted amounts are recorded. This not only concerns taxpayer-reported amounts but also the payment data arriving from banks to the Tax Administration. Tax Account Online always shows the most recent date up to which payments have been recorded.
In the Demo, you can try Tax Account Online without logging in.
How to log in to Tax Account Online:
Users representing a corporate entity must use their Katso ID and Password.
Corporate taxpayers using the Katso ID can authorise an accounting firm or an employee to access the Tax Account Online website as a user representing the company.
Business companies that have not applied for the Katso ID can authorise an agent (usually an accounting firm) to sign in to Tax Account Online with the agent’s own Katso ID and Password. In this case, the authorisation must be given to the agent online with a special Power of Attorney submitted electronically.
Private users including households, agricultural primary producers and self-employed individuals must use their bank identifiers or an electronic identity card issued by the Population Register Centre.
In the same way as businesses, private users who do not have a Katso ID can authorise an agent (usually an accounting firm) to sign in to Tax Account Online on their behalf. The authorisation must be given online with a special Power of Attorney submitted electronically. The agent must have a Katso ID and Password.
Tax Account target groups:
Tax Account is for taxpayers who are liable to pay any of the taxes within the Tax Account system. Examples of Tax Account taxes are VAT and employer’s contributions.
In addition, individual taxpayers (such as households) must pay their taxes through the Tax Account if they act as employers
