NCAD is Offering Full Fee Tuition Scholarships for Postgraduate Study, September 2015.

The National College of Art and Design is offering four postgraduate scholarships worth full tuition fees to one student pursuing graduate studies in each of the following fields:
** Fine Art (open to students of MFA Fine Art, MFA Art in the Digital World)
** Design (open to students of MFA Design, MSc Medical Device Design, MA Interaction Design)
** Education (open to students of MA Socially Engaged Art)
** Visual Culture (open to students of MA Design History and Material Culture, MA/MFA Art in the Contemporary World)

The scholarships will be awarded on academic merit based on the quality of the student’s application to the programme and their record of previous achievements. The decision to award the scholarship will be made by the relevant School Board (Fine Art, Design, Education or Visual Culture). This decision will be approved at NCAD Taught Programme Board, and recorded at NCAD Academic Council.

To be eligible for consideration for the tuition Scholarship award for MA Art in The Contemporary World or MA Design History and Material Culture applicants should apply for admission to the programme in the normal way by the published closing date. In addition you should submit a one page covering letter outlining your academic achievements and the reason why you should be considered for the scholarship award. To be eligible for consideration for the tuition scholarship award in the fields of Fine Art, Design or Education, you should apply for the programme in the normal way by the published closing date. You are not required to submit any additional information other than that requested on the application form.

The scholarship award is for tuition fees only and does not have a cash equivalence. Where a student enrols on a two year programme the scholarship will cover the fees for the two years. The tuition scholarship will not cover any repeat years.

MFA Fine Art – 31 March 2015
MFA Design / MSc Medical Device Design / MA Interaction Design – 30 April 2015
MA Design History & Material Culture / MA Art in the Contemporary World – 30 April 2015
MA in Socially Engaged Art – 30 April 2015

Educational Standard – All Masters Programmes :
1. An approved bachelor degree at a minimum level of 2nd Class Honours.

2. The College will consider applications from holders of diplomas in art or design (minimum level 2nd Class Honours or equivalent) in a field of study related to the proposed subject matter for a master’s degree.
3. Applications on the basis of proven relevant work experience will be considered.

** Those applying on the basis of 2 or 3 above may be required to pass a qualifying examination appropriate to each case, before being admitted to master’s degree studies. Attendance at selected undergraduate lecture courses at NCAD, together with related written work, may be required.

Educational Standard – Professional Masters in Education :
** Applicants for the Professional Masters in Education should hold a degree or equivalent in art and/or design recognised by the Registration Council for Secondary Teachers of the Department of Education and Science in Ireland.
