Island Wide School Poster Competition
World Blood Donor Day 2014 Global Event
World Blood Donor Day is celebrated globally on 14th June every year since 2004.
Main function of the celebration will be held on 14th June 2014
The day has been selected after the birth day of a Great Austrian Scientist Karl Landsteiner (1868-1943) who discovered the ABO blood groups.
Since then World Health Organization selects a country to celebrate the World Blood Donor Day global event and Sri Lanka was fortunate to been selected to host this precious event this year.
Main function of the celebration will be held at BMICH and a number of local and international invitees will grace the occasion.
In parallel to above event, National Blood Transfusion Service has organized an island wide school poster competition in collaboration with Ministry of Education.
