About Penang Bridge International Marathon: 

The Penang Bridge International Marathon (PBIM) is a sports event catered to serious runners as well as amateur ones from both local and international grounds.

Marathon  Date – Sunday, 16th November 2014

Uniting thousands of marathon enthusiasts annually, the run is well known for its captivating sight of the sunrise as it reveals the panoramic view of the “Pearl of the Orient”.

Held every year since 1985, people from all over the world come together to participate in this thrilling occasion of running across the third longest bridge in the world – The Penang Bridge, Penangites very own pride and joy.

Catering to the PBIM event, it is the only time of the year that this honourable national landmark is ever closed from traffic for several hours.

Very popular among sportsmen, school-going youngsters, working adults and families in search of a good time, the PBIM comprises of a full marathon, a half marathon, a quarter marathon and a 10 kilometer fun run opened to those above the age of 13.

The Penang Bridge International Marathon is a much anticipated affair as trophies, finisher medals, and certificates among other prizes are given out to those who have accomplished the race in their best time as well as to those who take part in this enjoyable event.

This renowned event is organized by the Penang State Tourism Development Committee.

Registration :

Which registration type should I choose?
If you are registering for yourself, AND your friends/ family, please choose the Blue Tab labelled “Individual, Friends and Family”.
If you are registering for a group of runners from a company, OR a school, OR a running club OR an organisation, please choose the Red Tab labelled “Company, School, Sports Club”.

Can I register on behalf of my friends and family?
Yes. If you are registering for yourself, friends and family, choose “Individual, Friends and Family”. If you are registering for more than one person, you may add multiple runners under your account by clicking “Add New Runner” after you register each runner. You may make payment for everyone under your account at once and you are able to manage all runners under your account.

If I register on behalf of my friends and family, what is the race pack collection procedure like?
Official receipt will be sent to the personal email of each runner. Each runner will need to bring their own IC/ Passport for race pack collection. You may collect the race pack on behalf of them by bringing your own (collector) IC/ Passport and official receipt OR copy of IC/Passport of respective runners. You may also opt for courier service (for addresses in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore only).

Can I send my friend to register and pick up the race pack for me?
Yes. Your friend will need to show us a copy of your official receipt or a photocopy of your IC/passport.

If I register for a group of runners under “Company, School, Sports Club”, can they collect their race pack themselves?
No. For group of runners registered under “Company, School, Sports Club”, only bulk collection is allowed. The person-in-charge will have to collect for all runners under the same group.
